KILIAN JORNET & EMILIE FORSBERG NEW COROS AMBASSADORS. Our GPS WATCH  finally confirms what we advanced you on 17th February: Kilian Jornet will be one of the new Coros Ambassadors. Today at 17.00 CET has been officially announced that Kilian Jornet and Emilie Forsberg will be new COROS ambassadors.

As we thought a couple of weeks ago, based on the pictures and information we saw and investigated at the  Tjörnarparen – Trail Ultra and we told you in this article many clues brough us to the conclusion that both athletes might sign a partnertship during this 2022 with COROS, and today at 17.00 CET hours been officially announced by COROS.

Kilian and Emilie have announced in the last 2 days their official “good bye” to Suunto in their instagrams accounts. Moreover, on 30NOV 2021 it was announced that their relationships with Salomon was to end too. In addition, Suunto is in the process of being sold from Amersports, Salomon’s mother house, to China’s Lisheng. Thus, the photos of the recently contested Swedish 100 miles and other indications made us believe that the announcement of today was about to happen.

This partnership is one more sign of COROS’s commitment to the training of performance at the highest level. To forge the relationship and be able to experience the product in a high-performance environment, COROS co-founder Lewis Wu traveled to Norway to meet with both and accompany Kilian on a few laps of his circuit mountain ski training facility.

Both Kilian and Emelie have set themselves important competitive targets for 2022. Kilian’s recently announced schedule includes his return to the UTMB, where the former Chamonix area resident is a three-time champion, The Hardrock Hundred, where he is a four-time champion, Zegama with 9 wins in 10 appearances and Sierra-Zinal, where Kilian has won 9 times including the last 5 editions.

“It has even bigger mountain-related goals in the future than it does. we are very excited to be apart of it. I always want COROS to be part of these incredible stories, where athletes push the boundaries of performance human,” Wu said.

He added: “We don’t want COROS to be a sponsor. purely commercial, but we strive for the brand to really contribute value to the training of athletes. I’m very excited about the goals futures of Kilian and Emelie and with COROS being part of something that inspires everyone to do something incredible.”

“When considering the additions of new athletes, my typical way of connecting with the athlete it’s going out and participating in their sport alongside them,” Lewis Wu said. Added: “I had to pull my ski gear with me on a long business trip for several years. European cities, just for a few hours of adventure with Kilian… and it was worth it.” B want more details on the history of the first meeting between Lewis and Kilian, you can see the BLOG post here.

“They do a lot of things, they do a lot of research, they put athletes first andwe can do many things together… super, super excited by theadventures that lie ahead.“- Kilian Jornet

“The watches are amazing, the technology is perfect and having a teamas COROS in my return to racing is amazing. It’s a great one tool and I’m very excited.” Emelie Forsberg.

Kilian and Emilie join a family of Coros ambassadors with names such as Camille Herron, recently World Record of 12 hours and 100 miles, Hayden Hawks– Lavaredo Ultra Trail and CCC-UTMB winner, Tim Tollefson in the trail area, but with the KING of all the times Eliud Kipchoge, who yesterday won with record the Tokio’s Marathon, or Desiree Linden– 2 times Olympian and Boston Champion and many others.

Emilie and Kilian, have chosen the COROS APEX Pro as theirs primary GPS watch, attracted by its light weight, size, and inclusion of all the features of mountain activities they need.

Top range from the brand. For a price of € 500 will give us a good battery in a solid box and something more compact than the grandote Vertix. At the top of gps tracking (1sec) gives 40 hours, with the Ultramax mode it lengthens up to 100h. Solid, with sapphire crystal, titanium bezel and aluminum case, but lightweight with a weight of just 49 grams.

At the level of athletics, note that it also has the special mode “Track Run” to avoid the usual uncomfortable deviations of gps watches when we are going to throw series in the tartan or similar work.

It was the first Coros to offer manual and tactile control of the watch. The interface as a mobile app are also well valued, although it is missing to be able to cacharrrear with it on the PC to polish more things, as with all its brothers.
