KILIAN JORNET 2022 CALENDAR: PIERRA MENTA, ZEGAMA, HARDROCK100, SIERRE ZINAL & UTMB. Our  MOUNTAIN RACING CALENDAR bring us today the latest news from Kilian Jornet who has made public his 2022 calendar.

In Kilian own words: “It looks like I will do some races this year…1 skimo race, 2 short distances, 2 long distances: Pierra Menta, Zegama, HARDROCK100, Sierre Zinal & UTMB.

KILIAN JORNET 2022 CALENDAR

A couple of days ago we informed you about Kilian’s victory in the 100 miles race, the Tjörnarparen – Trail Ultra  as Kilian published himself on his social media accounts, he took part on a 100 miles race, the Tjörnarparen – Trail Ultra, where he took  his first victory on this 2022 in this 163 km, 2175M+ with a time of 16h 19min 51 seconds with a temperature of 0°C and a feeling temperature of -5°C.

Apart from being his first race this year, we have seen him using his new shoes and other products that are not anymore from his previous sponsor Salomon.

Moreover, after that race we noticed that apart from having used new shoes, he might have been wearing a Coros GPS, as we also informed you here. And today he has just revealed his calendar for this 2022:

PIERRA MENTA 4 ETAPES | 10.000M+ | 9-12 MARCH

Becasue nothing is better than ski mountaneering and no better race than Pierra Menta, as Kilian described in his INstagram post. The question now would be to know who will he partner with.

ZEGAMA AIZKORRI MENDI MARATOIA | 42 KM | 2750 M+ | 29 MAY

In Kilian own words: “because Zegama is Zegama”. Two years later the iconic image will be repeated: that we have remembered above: That with the runners wrapped up, feverish and carried on wings on the ascent of Santo Spiritu. An image that is already part of the collective memory of the corremontes.

The most mediatic mountain marathon in Spain, the Zegama-Aizkorri, returns this 2022 with all the honors: being the inaugural event of the Golden Trail World Series and celebrating its 21st edition, which will not lack the best in the world.

There will be, on May 29, punctual to the appointment, athletes of the stature of Kilian Jornet, Remi Bonnet, Jonathan Albon, Oriol Cardona and Manuel Merillas. among others.

HARDROCK 100 MILES | 160KM |10.000M+| 15 JULY

Departure from Silverton Colorado on 15th July at 6.00 am crossing thirteen major passes in the 12,000′ (3600 m) to 13,000′ (4000m) range, ultil reaching the highest point on the course being the 14,048′(4200 m) summit of Handies Peak, to finally arrive back to Silverton after 100 miles/160km and complete the tradition of, instead of crossing a finish line, “kiss the Hardrock”, a picture of a ram’s head painted on a large block of stone mining debris.

Here you can read how we told you LIVE on 2021,when François D’Haene arrives to Silverton, kisses the rock and won this Hardrock 2021, at 21:45:50, in the middle of the morning 4AM local time (12 noon CET), in less than 24 hours after leaving at 6AM and dispossessing Kilian Jornet of the race record that was 23:28:00.

Will Kilian try to recover his record?

SIERRE-ZINAL 31KM | 2000M+ | 13th AUGUST

In 2021 Kilian obtained his 8th Victory in the mythical Swiss race.

As far as our mountain running goes, by anybody’s metrics Sierre-Zinal is among the most revered races in the world. In terms of the competition it attracts each year, there’s no doubt about the quality and depth of the field.

UTMB | 170KM | 10.000 M+ | 26th AUGUST

In 2021 François D’Haene & Courtney Dauwalter where kings of Mont Blanc, here you can read how we shared it with you. After a crazy race, François D’Haene prevailed and becomes the runner with the most UTMB titles, four, the question is if we will see both of the best ultra runners of the orld compiting hand to hand this year in Chamonix, most likely yes.
