HOKA SPEEDGOAT 5:
THE EVOLUTION OF A CLASSIC INTO A BEAST

As you can see in the title, the in-depth test has been divided into two: one of 267 kilometers with the first pair of the Speedgoat 5 (green) that I obtained privately (official distributor) and with which the technical analysis was carried out and 100 kilometers with the “red” pair that Hoka Spain offered us.
I have to say, that the Speedgoat have been my favorite shoes for many years, from the previous models through the Speedgoat EVO, the Speedgoat 4 and now these Speedgoat 5, despite some things that clearly have to improve immediately, as you can see already in the image below.

Specifically designed for the long-haul, this Xodus Ultra 12 wnats to provide the ultra-comfort desired for the ultra-distance and the demands that we all might have after many, many hours wearing them.
One of the great secrets of the shoe is found in the midsole, formed by the PWRRUNPB compound that provides great cushioning and lightness, and the PWRRUN FRAME above the midsole to support the foot when landing and providing a smooth transition on takeoff.

WEIGHT 260G (Size 8uk) Interesting weight today for versatile shoes. If you want something lighter and more radical, you already have its racing sister. This premium solidity and durability.
STACK HEIGHT: 31mm at the heel, 23mm at the front. Drop 8mm. A classic profile, in the historical line of the brand with which Kiilian ran for so many years and not immersed in maximalism. Drop8 is a good balance for popular and versatile use. .
FIT: Wide toe box, with space for long distance and hot days, vindicates the brand. In the absence of rolling more kilometers to validate.

The full lenth Zoom X foam featured by this ZoomX Zegama made the move of the foam compound from the asphalt winning marathons, mounted in shoes like the Alphafly and 4%, to the trail scene, which guarantee comfort, reactivity and cushioning.

TOP6 TRAIL RUNNING SHOES 2022: CONCLUSIONS
Now a days its clear that all trail running shoes are going to have at least one or two shoes in their catalogue with at least 30 mm of stack height.
The 6 pair we presented above are, according to all the ones we presented you this year the TOP6 due to the technologies, weight and confort that they bring.
Having a very cushioned shoe its now a days synonym of confort and in majority of the cases long durability which is the case in these 6.
All of them with similar weights, around 300g
