SALOMON ULTRA GLIDE: 32mmof cushioning. New maximum trail running shoe. Our TRAIL SHOES section is now thoroughly reviewing a great novelty of the French brand’s catalogue. The Ultra Glide arrives with a very prominent cushioning. No less than 26mm in the front and 32mm in heel, with a drop of 6mm.

A long running shoe for paths and trails. The set is completed with a Contagrip MA sole, sister of the already classic Sense Ride range, as well as the use of cable laying and sense fit support, among other classics of the brand.

Today we start the review of the salomon 2021-22 novelties with its most outstanding news. The new Salomon Ultra Glide. A maximalist shoe with numbers that Salomon is not used to. Remember that salomon’s heights have been the most consistent in the entire market for 10 years. The ground height used to range from 16-20mm to 20-24mm at the back, while the sole width was almost uniform at 10.5cm front and 8.5cm at the back.

However, we have seen many evolutions of special interest to arrive to many more runners. Thus, Not long ago we presented the Salomon Slab Ultra 3, a competition shoe for ultras of higher price, and of course the thorough test of the Salomon Ultra Pro, seeking to expand the segment of ultra runners who chose the brand.

However, the ultra segment that bets on large cushioning with medium and low drops only grows: 0-6mm drops and with a cushioning to the ground equal to or greater than 30mm. • Ground height: 26mm-32mm. With almost 50% more than the usual 18mm in Salomon, quite a step. However, it is not a forced height, since models like the Altra Olympus years ago since they offer up to 32mm in front.
