SALOMON CROSS GORE TEX:

FOUR SHOES WITH MEMBRANE FOR WINTER TRAIL

In 2019 the new Supercross and Alphacross were introduced, which opened the Cross family looking to offer shoes based on the Speedcross image to a wider range of runners, with different prices and functions.

Now, the French brand is betting strongly for the Salomon Cross Gore-Tex range, with four new trail models equipped with membrane and also with male and female version all of them. Undoubtedly, a leader’s move to cover all runners profiles. Let’s see which of them fits you more and better, according to the type of trailrunner you are and the use that you intend to give them…

SALOMON ALPHACROSS BLAST GTX (110€ / 300GR / DROP10MM)

Salomon basic shoes to begin mountain races in winter. A shoe for occasional runners. It seeks to take us comfortable from the asphalted street to the path of mount, without excessive compliations or of rhythm or terrain. The brand has thought especially about achieving an ultra-compact shoe, wide and lacing by cords.
The SALOMON ALPHACROSS BLAST GTX comes with:

  • Recommended price: 110 €
  • Weight: 300gr
  • Drop: 10mm,
  • Sole: Contagrip TD for a premium durability and grip.
  • Energy Cell-A midsole
  • Laces: the only one of the four sisters where we will have to tie the laces to make them even more accessible to those who have never used the classic Quicklace of the French brand.

SALOMON SUPERCROSS BLAST GTX (130€ / 310GR / DROP10MM)

The winter version of Salomon’s most polyvalent shoe, that combines brand classics such as the cable laces with a new widest fit. Designed for intermediate trail runners, who occasionally goes to the mountains just for training or competition.

The SALOMON SUPERCROSS BLAST GTX:

If you bet on them, you will see that it combines dynamic cushioning, precise foot support and aggressive grip, to run from your urban areas to the trails and back. Although at the image level it is inspired by the SPEEDCROSS saga, it is a much more wider fit shoe and not as restrictive as the great classic of competition whose details can be contrasted below. A shoe for everybody who wants to perform in almost every type of terrain.

SALOMON WILDCROSS GTX (160€ / 290GR / DROP 8MM)

The most modern of the saga, for experienced and fast runners. Under adverse trail conditions, this waterproof shoe for veteran runners seeks to provide comfort, protection, traction and durability to the most demanding races. It is an agile and reliable shoe to have with you almost the whole winter.
The WILDCROSS GTX:

  • Recommended price: 160 €
  • Weight: 290g
  • Drop: 10mm
  • Sole: Contagrip TA for premium grip on durability,
  • Midsole: Energy Cell. It is focused on maximum performance on soft terrain as well as mud or soft snow. If snow is already melted and frost or ther are snow plates around, better to bet on her spiky sisters.

In the absence of spikes, it carries multidirectional rubber blocks that offer a more versatile grip in almost all winter terrain. Also, its waterproof GORE-TEX® membrane and the usual fit on the wings/side ends of the SensiFit ™ blade that help the foot not move from its site. The drop and height above the ground have also been optimized to provide the right amount of stability.

SALOMON SPEEDCROSS 5 GTX  (160€ / 320 GR / DROP10MM)

Famous for its grip and narrow fit, minimum distance from the ground and great grip on uphills have made the Speedcross saga one of the most popular Salomon shoes. Compared with her four sisters, it is certainly the best to go to muddy and high intense races..
The SPEEDCROSS 5 GTX:

  • Recommended price: 160 €
  • Weight: 320g
  • Drop: 10mm
  • Sole: Contagrip TA sole that premium grip on durability, Sensifit fit to the foot blade and midsole Energy Cell.
  • GORE-TEX® design with floating reed that improves comfort and stylizes the overall look and feeling of the shoe.

It retains the well-known grip, unprecedented cushioning and precise adjustment that have turned this shoe into an icon, but in the same way it makes it not perfect fit for everyone.
