COMPETITION CARBON ASSISTED SHOES FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE

The brand promotes the shoes to help us achieve our personal bests, as a purely competition shoe. Based on the price, it is really segmented for those X days where everything must roll in a way to help us achieve our very best.
Based on that, comes with the new PWRRUN HG foam cushioning for energy that helps power your toward your next PR. Plus, a heel-to-toe plate design that helps maximize flexibility as you roll past the finish line.
Before we enter in the detailed analysis, lets check the differences between the different shoes of the Endorphin saga and then lets go with the Elite.

SAUCONY ENDORPHIN ELITE: HIGHLIGHTS
- LIGHT: this Endorphin Elite reduces weight to the minimum with its 204 grams.
- SPEEDROLL TECHNOLOGY: this technology developed by the North American brand ensures great reactivity with little effort to run faster, optimizing our energy during the race.
- FOAM INCREASE: by increasing the profiles of the shoe we have more foam in the midsole, with which we will have more convenience and comfort when competing.
UPPER
The upper consists of a combined mesh and knit material, made to be weightless, as you can see taken out the “unnecessary” pieces on the sides but still providing the support needed when running at high speed.
This is breathable, light and wraps around your feet like a sock. A sturdy strap wraps around the midfoot and extends under the carbon plate. This provides a good grip to keep your feet from slipping. The heel counter is very flexible and the shoe lip has many ventilation holes to keep your feet dry and comfortable on the “D” day.
MIDSOLE
Saucony has added an all-new foam to the Endorphin Elite. The new PWRRUN HG has the best cushioning and energy return of any Endorphin model to date.
The PWRRUN HG is based on the PWRRUN PB. The PWRRUN PB uses PEBA (polyether block amide) where balls of the material are pressed into soles. With PWRRUN HG, PEBA is distributed throughout the sole, so to speak, giving you a midsole with more cushioning and energy return. Thanks to the PWRRUN HG, you can run more easily at high speeds and keep it longer.
The Endorphin Elite’s carbon plate has a unique design. Four notches have been added to the forefoot to make the shoe more flexible in the forefoot. Every runner lands differently and rolls their foot slightly differently. Thanks to the indentations, the forefoot moves more with your stride. Whether you’re pushing a little harder on the inside or outside, the Elite always puts you ahead. Thanks to the SPEEDROLL technology, i.e. the curved shape of the sole, your foot rolls forward naturally.
OUTSOLE
This outsole has a fairly rough pattern, giving you good grip in all directions and under all circumstances.
SAUCONY ENDORPHIN ELITE: CONCLUSIONS
The carbon plate running shoes world is developing really quick and almost every brand has, now a days, one or two models with assisted plates.
In the case of Saucony, as you can see above, there are 3 models with assisted plates, from nylon plate to carbon plate, depending on the specific use and the aim of the shoe.
This Endorphin Elite, as its name and price (300€) indicates are made for the Elite runners of for those of us who really want to have a dedicated shoe for the “D” day.
For sure a shoe that is going to be competing in all the Marathon Majors and on the same range of the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 3 or tehhe Hoka Rocket X 2: is a very fast competition shoe and is perfect for running long distances at high speed.
The Endorphin Elite falls into the category of fast carbon shoes for long distances, similar to models like the Nike Alphafly,or the ASICS Metaspeed Sky, but above in performance of its sisters the SAUCONY ENDORPHIN PRO 3.
Obviously not a shoe to wear every day in every fast training otherwise the outsole will be worn out pretty soon, but definitively worth it the money if you are looking to rest some minutes into your marathon or half marathon personal bests.
