Cyklon Cross GTX® is the technical Mountain Running® shoe with integrated water-repellent gaiter and BOA® Fit System lacing. Designed for off-road training and competitions in the winter months and suitable for use with snowshoes. The GORE-TEX® membrane is waterproof and breathable, working in synergy with the water-repellent gaiter to prevent mud and snow getting in.
The overall fit comfort is achieved through the “Easy-in” system that makes it quick and easy to put the shoes on. The BOA® Fit System offers greater precision and speed when adjusting the fit of the shoe.
The La Sportiva shoes are structured according to short, medium and long distance, according to its chasis/fit for narrow feet, width or regular, depending on its midsole in more and less reactive and according to its sole in soft terrain, ice, stone or all terrain and depending on duration and grip.
But in addition, we must also take into account its sole on soft ground, ice, stone or off-road and depending on the duration and grip. Above, the graph of soles with varied friction and durability.
The FriXion range consists of 5 types of compounds used in mountain running and climbing footwear.

MIDSOLE
EVA – INJECTED: High degree of cushoning and high elasticity of the fabric. These features assist “push off” during the propulsion phase while running, making these models who use injected midsoles, ideal for use on off-road trails.
Furthermore, EVA Injected midsole drastically reduce the “squash” effect of the EVA over time, allowing the product to mantain the same features for its entire duration.

The sole is made from FriXion® White, a mix that offers excellent grip and is designed to be used with AT Grip spikes to enhance grip on snowy and icy terrain. A must-have for anyone who loves to run and compete, even in the winter months. Cyklon Cross GTX®: for winter.
LA SPORTIVA CYKLON CROSS GTX: CONCLUSION
We have here a very technical shoe, designed for extreme conditions and mountain activities in high terrain, suitable for medium-distance training, in winter or in summer on softer, more technical mountain terrain, very similar to the SCARPA RIBELLE RUN KALIBRA that we presented you here last week.
Obviously, it is not a daily training shoe, unless you live in the Alps, Scandinavian countries, Alaska or any similar area where snow and cold require our feet to be more protected in our daily training activities.
Personally i see as a very interesting product to be also used in some high tours in summer, where crossing snow fields might be required and the use of mountaineering gear too, such as crampons with the added value of having the possibility to be used with AT Grip spikes to enhance grip on snowy and icy terrain.
