ADIDAS ADIZERO PRIME X STRUNG: THE FORBIDDEN RUNNING SHOES.

ADIDAS ADIZERO PRIME X STRUNG: THE FORBIDDEN RUNNING SHOES. Our RUNNING SHOES section brings us another new version of the adidas ADIZERO family, the PRIME X STRUNG.

The PRIME X STRUNG is born as an elite shoe, however it is banned from official competitions as its sole and midsole thickness is higher than the 40 mm allowed by the World Athletics. In any case, it is a shoe available since a couple of weeks, for speed training which comes with a high price, 280€, very light weight with only 255 grams and a drop of 8.5 mm, where the stack height is the thicker that we have ever presented here: heel: 49.5 mm / forefoot: 41 mm.

ADIDAS ADIZERO PRIME X STRUNG:
THE FORBIDDEN RUNNING SHOES.
280€ | 255 Gr. | 8.5 MM DROP

ADIZERO PRIME X STRUNG is the first ever Adizero running shoe with a STRUNG upper. STRUNG is a textile innovation that transforms athlete data into a dynamic material tuned to the athlete’s needs.

It makes it possible to map and program different fiber properties thread by thread. With a flexible and a lightweight seamless cocoon feeling around the foot, STRUNG helps optimise comfort, according to adidas, and supports you in breaking your personal best on long distance runs* (not in official World Athletis competitions where the maximum sole (sole+midsole) is 40 mm)

The STRUNG upper is fused to a Prime X outsole packed with carbon ENERGYRODS and three-layers of LIGHTSTRIKE PRO for a responsive run.

ADIDAS ADIZERO PRIME X STRUNG: HIGHLIGHTS

adidas unveils the boundary-breaking ADIZERO Prime X Strung, a running shoe wired for speed.  The latest in adidas’ running tech innovation, the ADIZERO Prime X Strung is the first time a shoe from adidas’ record-breaking ADIZERO range features a data-driven Strung upper.

It also marks the first time Strung has been commercially available following the announcement of FUTURECRAFT.STRUNG two years ago. The result is a first ever ADIZERO running shoe that not only helps optimize comfort and provides a responsive run but is also wired for speed.

Designed without limitations to amplify the key features (stack height of 49.5mm/41mm) of the record breaking ADIZERO range and to push the limits of technology, the data-driven X Strung upper is coded thread by thread. Achieved with precise use of material, the upper provides a seamless, lightweight cocoon around the foot, providing runners comfort and support.

UPPER

The strung upper provides a seamless, lightweight cocoon around the foot, achieved with precise use of material. According to adidas, a data-driven footwear upper, coded thread by thread for the long-distance runner.

MIDOSLE

The most cushioned midsole ever found in an adidas running shoe with three layers of resilient LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam that returns energy for the optimal running experience.

Together, with the carbon-infused ENERGYRODS provide lightweight stiffness and limit energy loss at toe off. With together with the 49.5 mm in the heel and 41mm  in the toe box, makes this shoe, for sure, an extremely reactive and fast shoe (obviously not valid for every runner).

As mentioned before this numbers make the shoe banned from official competitions, where the maximum thickness of the sole is 40 mm.

ADIDAS ADIZERO PRIME X STRUNG: CONCLUSIONS

The ADIZERO Prime X Strung is the first time a shoe from adidas’ record-breaking ADIZERO range features a data-driven Strung upper.

Demonstrating adidas’ commitment to continue innovating for its runners and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, the Strung upper is fused to an outsole packed with carbon ENERGYRODS and three-layers of LIGHTSTRIKE PRO in the Prime X sole.

The PRIME X STRUNG is born as an elite shoe, however it is banned from official competitions as its sole and midsole thickness is higher than the 40 mm allowed by the World Athletics, so for those who still look for an adidas shoe which is allowed in the official competitions, you can still have a look into the ADIZERO ADIOS PRO 3

If this shoes would be allowed in competition, they would fall into the category of fast carbon shoes for long distances, similar to models like the Nike Alphafly, ASICS Metaspeed Sky and the Saucony Endorphin Pro. But can be also used for lower distances, as the benefits of the 3 layer LighStrike and the carbon fiber plate are obvious to any runner now a days.

Obviously not a shoe to wear everyday in every fast training otherwise the outsole will be worn out pretty soon, moreover as the money investment is pretty high too, maybe just a shoe for the elite athletes.
