KILIAN JORNET NNORMAL SHOES: FROM THE RECORD AT ZEGAMA & HARDROCK TO ZINAL. Our TRAIL SHOES section continues to expand the info of the new trail running brand from Kilian Jornet: NNormal.
This weekend we had the opportunity to see him and the shoes, live at Sierre-Zinal and that great 5th place after having battled with cramps majority of the race. Lets see how he passed by the KM 25 at Sierre-Zinal on Saturday.

As you might remember the Nnormal brand was officially presented at Zegama Aizkorri with these two images below with Kilian Jornet himself as a base. At the moment the technical characteristics are still not known, which we will advance as soon as it is official.
NNORMAL TRAIL RUNNING SHOES: WHAT DID WE ALREADY KNOW?
In the previous images officially published so far, little else we have been able to advance apart from a sharp design, a high sole, the use of traditional laces instead of the laced Salomon cable and a Vibram sole.
So far this weekend and also at Zegama we have seen (at least) 2 different models, both of them with a high cushioned midsole (minimum 30-33 mm in the back and 25-28 in the front)and Vibram full out soles. The names of the models have not been yet disclosed, but we have the intuition they will may refer to mountains/culture names either in Norway or in Mallorca 😉
For the time been, we will refer to the ones we have seen in person as the “white” model used to go to the presentations of the race and the black model with which Kilian run at Zegama Aizkorri with record, Hardrock100 with record and this 5th place last weekend at Sierre-Zinal.
As you can appreciate in the below images, on the below images is the “white” model with which Kilkian attended the official presentation of Sierre-Zinal on Friday 12th Ausgust at Sorebois in Zinal and also in the press conference in the afternoon in Sierre (middle picture)
In the other hand, the “black” model is the one chosen for the competition this weekend at Sierre Zinal where he took the 5th place after a last second sprint with Petru Mamu.

KILIAN JORNET STATEMENT AT ZINAL: “I HAD MUSCLE CRAMPS.
Despite arriving at the finish line with a smile, Kilian Jornet couldn’t help but get serious when talking about the race. “I don’t know if it was because of the heat, but I’ve had a very hard day. I suffered from muscle cramps almost from the beginning and then I had to manage the rest of the race as best I could”.
Asked about his recovery after the Hardrock 100 and if it was too early to compete again, the Catalan replied: «I don’t think so. In training everything went well, my legs went well and I felt as if I had recovered. I really think it’s the heat, or maybe something else. We’ll see. My plan for the UTMB remains the same. It’s not the same kind of race and I think I’ll be fine. In fact, I’m very happy with my form, so let’s recover well and try.”
