LAVAREDO ULTRA TRAIL BY UTMB 2022 (23rd-26th JUNE): TRAILRUNNING COMES BACK TO THE DOLOMITES. Our MOUNTAIN RACING CALENDAR 2022  bring us today the preview of the Lavaredo Ultra Trail that will be hosted this weekend in the Italian Dolomites and its mythical Tre Cimme.

Remenber that this year, as we presented you here it will be part of the  UTMB World Series. The event starts today Thursday, June 23 with Cortina Kids Race and Cortina Sky race, which is the kick-off for four days of special charm. This 2022 also comes with the commercial hook of being the only Italian appointment of the UTMB® World Series, the new commercial circuit created by the union of the UTMB Group and Ironman.

TRAILRUNNING COMES BACK TO THE DOLOMITES

Born in 2007 Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB represents the most beautiful event for many mountain runners. No en valde takes place in one of the most suggestive scenarios of the Dolomites, with the added charm of Cortina d’Ampezzo, starting point and arrival of the four tests that give life to the event. The queen test is Lavaredo Ultra Trail ., 120 kilometers of development and 5,800 meters of positive slope.

The event starts today Thursday, June 23 with Cortina Kids Race and Cortina Sky race, which is the kick-off for four days of special charm. This 2022 also comes with the commercial hook of being the only Italian appointment of the UTMB® World Series, the new commercial circuit created by the union of the UTMB Group and Ironman.

The races in the Italian Dolomites started today with the Cortina Skyrace and its 20 km 1000m+. After it, tomorrow will the turn of the Queen Race, the Lavaredo Ultra Trail and its 120 km 5800 m+ and also on 25th June the Cortina Trail 48 km 4100m+ to finalize on 26th June with the UltraDolomites and its 80 km 4100+

LAVAREDO ULTRA TRAIL 2022 BY UTMB: PROGRAM

This 2022 offers four mountain races over 20km, 48km, 80km and 120km, in which 5,000 runners from 70 countries are expected to participate from June 23 to 26.

The queen test of this event, known for its beautiful mountains, will begin one more year with a spectacular night out, at the foot of the Campanile and with the sound of “Death had a price” by Ennio Morricone.

THURSDAY 23 JUNE

The party starts today Thursday 23 and will continue until the morning of Sunday 26. The protagonists will be 5,000 competitors, from 76 countries and five continents. The curtain rises today Thursday 23 with the opening of the Expo, in the Olympic Ice Stadium, on Via Bonacossa, with the main brands in the sector.

Today will also take place the Cortina Kids Race, the test dedicated to children from zero to 13 years old who will compete in the center of Cortina. Departure and arrival are set in Corso Italia, just below the bell tower, as for their older “colleagues”.

At 17 hours departure from the Skyrace Curtain, 20 kilometers and 1000 m of positive elevation, with the highest point in Forcella Zumeles.

FRIDAY 24 JUNE

On Friday at 8 in the morning the 1600 participants of the Cortina Trail will depart who will have 12 hours to complete the route of 48 kilometers and 2,600 meters of positive elevation.

Waiting for the arrival of the first competitors, Piazza Dibona will host “Ultratalk”, a talk organized by La Sportiva between some of the protagonists of the ultra trail: Sweden’s Mimmi Kotka, America’s Kelly Wolf, Britain’s Sophie Grant and Italy’s Michele Graglia and Roberto Mastrotto.

After the presentation of the best runners, at 23:00 hours the Lavaredo Ultra Trail will begin, of 120 km and 5600 m of positive slope.

SATURDAY 25 JUNE

The first arrivals of the queen test are scheduled for 11 on Saturday. And again on Saturday, the thousand athletes of the UltraDolomites, 80 kilometers of development with 4,600 meters of positive elevation, will depart from San Vigilio di Marebbe (Bolzano). Finish line for everyone at Corso Italia in Cortina.

SUNDAY 26 JUNE

The last arrivals of the two longest races are expected in the early hours of Sunday, June 26, while at 12, in Piazza Dibona, the grand final with the awards ceremony.

It will be possible to follow live the 2022 edition of La Sportiva Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB® thanks to the live streaming that will be broadcast on the web and social networks of the event.

LAVADERO ULTRA TRAIL BY UTMB 2022: UTMB WORLD SERIES

Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB® is part of the UTMB® World Series, which brings together the best races in exceptional locations while surrounding itself by unspoiled nature. A total of 25 events in 16 countries across Asia, Oceania, Europe, and the Americas have been confirmed for the 2022 UTMB World Series®.

This year’s Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB® offers exclusive access to the UTMB® World Series Finals 2023, which will take place in the 20 km, 50 km and 100 km categories of the UTMB® Mont-Blanc in Chamonix, France.

All finishers of the UTMB® World Series events receive Running Stones with the amount depending on distance and altitude. One running stone equals one entry in the lottery for the UTMB® World Series Finals.
