SAN SEBASTIÁN MARATHON 2022: REGISTRATION OPEN. Our RACES CALENDAR 2022 section celebrates today the 44th edition of the San Sebastián marathon, which will be held 27NOV.
One of the great novelties of this edition will be the possibility of carrying out a half marathon, in addition to the already existing 10k race.

The Zurich Marathon San Sebastian is heading for its 44th edition with great news. A renewed route that will give you even more speed and the introduction of a half marathon, will make that next November 27, we live the great festival of popular athletics in San Sebastian.
The 43rd edition of the San Sebastian Marathon was held on 28NOV2021. It left us a gold for the Ethiopian Kindie Derseh, with a mark of 2:12:11, and his compatriot Meseret Gebre, with 2:27:36,
The San Sebastian marathon, which has been held since 1978, was stopped for the first time in 2020 due to the pandemic.
For this reason, La Bella Easo returned last year with desire than ever to receive its athletes, who were able to run again in front of La Concha beach.
San Sebastian dressed in luxury, with that special audience, to receive the participants of the 43rd edition of the test. Despite the cold, rain and wind, the runners did not hesitate and went out through the streets and squares of the emblematic Donostia.

SAN SEBASTIÁN MARATHON 2022: NEW COURSE.
New route: faster, central and more touristy
The route improves its layout, seeking to make it even faster through the main streets of the center of San Sebastian, which will allow us to enjoy some of its most emblematic points.
This fact will undoubtedly give even more appeal to a test where the heat of the Gipuzkoan public is always one of the great protagonists of the day.
With departure from Calle Hernani, in the center next to the Town Hall and the gardens of Alerdi Eder, it will be the best scenario for runners to feel the support of the public before the start.
A great atmosphere that will take the runners to perform 3 laps, one short and two long asymmetrical laps.
The first kilometers will be run through the main streets of the city center and the promenade next to the Urumea River, before heading along the Avenida de la Libertad towards La Concha and the Antiguo neighborhood.
When returning from the bay of La Concha the race will pass through the neighborhoods of Amara, Anoeta, the center and gros passing in front of such emblematic buildings as the Vitoria Eugenia Theater, the Anoeta stadium, the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, the Kursaal or the Plaza Gipuzkoa.
At the end of the third lap you can enjoy a magnificent straight, of more than 1 kilometer, along the emblematic Boulevard, completely flat to the finish line and surrounded by the heat of the Gipuzkoan audience.
NEW 2022: 1/2 MARATHON SAN SEBASTIÁN.
The introduction of a half marathon circuit on November 27, along with a 10k race will round off the great running party in San Sebastian. A fast circuit through the city center that will expand the public of the test and consolidate its position as one of the reference races.

With registrations open from this month of April, the Zurich Marathon San Sebastián 2022 will put all the possible resources for the participants to live, on November 27, a day where sport and leisure will go hand in hand.
