Who is CIMALP? CIMALP is a mountain French brand created in 1964 by a mountaineer who has distinguished himself by trying to develop technical and reliable products, but at affordable prices.
Established at the foot of the Alps between Vercors and Monts d’Ardéche, CIMALP designs material for all mountain sports: skiing, hiking, mountaineering and mainly Mountain Running, that in a few years become the star of the company within the French market. They are technical products at a contained price and only available online.

KEVLAR REINFORCEMENTS & MULTI-USE
In the lower part of the leg, apart from the zipper that allows you to put on your boots with great comfort, there are klevar reinforcements that prevent wear or possible tears when using crampons or any other boots like the MTB ones that you can see in the picture below.
LIGHT, WARM AND STRETCHABLE FOR ACTIVE WINTER ACTIVITIES
These trousers are warm thanks to their CimaTherm® inner lining, water protective thanks to their DWR coating, and their zipped side vents allow efficient moisture management in case of intense activity.
They feature kevlar ski-edge protections, an elasticated waist, zipped leg bottoms and a fitted cut that gives you comfort and freedom of movement during any winter activity.
In our case we even took them for a MTB technique course, as the temperatures that day were below 0°C and the strecht fabric and warm were outstanding for a non specific MTB pant.
CIMALP BORNAND 2 H: CONCLUSIONS
Great products in this mountain range of products from the French of Cimalp. Tough and solid pants, not very heavy and with a versatility that can make it the pants for all this (and many other) winter.
First of all I would highlight the versatility, because it is not a trouser for a single/specific use, but thanks to different details, such as the side zippers in addition to the Kevlar reinforcements and the waterproofing allow to be used both in long days of skiing or mountaineering activities, but also in Mountain Bike activities which I had the pleasure to wear. Not been an specific MTB pant, has revealed as a perfect companion in the cold winter days where I still had to take the bike and ride around the snow fileds of Bayern.
They are warm, strechable in every direction and waterproofness make them a very reliable and durable pants, trust me, I have wore them in many situations this winter and I will keep on doing it this spring and summer for the high mountains to climb.
Likewise, the warm and soft to the touch fabric with the skin, make those cold days less cold and the pattern allows the use of a first layer underneath, without feeling “stuffed”.
