HOKA ONE ONE 2022: NEW TECTON X, SPEEDGOAT 5 & CARBON X 3… . Our TRAIL RUNNING section bring us today the first glimpse of the HOKA collection for 2022. A couple of days ago was the turn of the 2022 Salomon asphalt shoes and the Salomon Trail Running 2022, and today we bring you the cushioned HOKA.

For this 2022, HOKA introduces for the first time a carbon plate in its trail shoes with the Tecton X, renews the Speedgoat with version 5, the Carbon X 3 and offers two other new models: the Mach Supersonic and the Kawana. Let’s start with the video review of the HOKA Speedgoat 5 and then analyze all the others.

HOKA ONE ONE 2022

This new collection of HOKA One One for 2022 arrives with a new trail shoe, the Tecton X, which for the first time mounts two carbon plates, renews the Speedgoat 5, “slims” the Carbon X 3 and combines the catalog of shoes with the Kawana and the Mach Supersonic.

Also, we see how the collection has focused on lightening materials and getting shoes just as cushioned and reactive but with a few grams less weight.

HOKA TECTON X

A very light shoe (240 g.) of competition, however could also be trained with it, which for the first time for HOKA, mounts two carbon plates on its chassis. The shoe shares the same height to the ground with the Speedgoat, but promises much more reactivity with the assistance of these two parallel plates from the heel to the toes.

UPPER

Jacquard Engineered Mesh – this recycled yarn mesh, provides a secure lock to the foot preventing you from doing so in technical curves and descents the foot “dances” inside the shoe.

MIDSOLE

The PROFLY™ midsole cushions the tread and offers a more resounding boost along with a super light undercoil (the same new foam that the Carbon X 3 mounts) and 2 parallel carbon plates from the heel to the fingers that act as struts to provide propulsion, but also allow movement from side to side when it is most needed on the trails.

SOLE

Vibram MegaGrip Lite Base outsole, a thinner overall profile for lighter weight but still 4mm lugs.

HOKA SPEEDGOAT 5

Jim Wamsley’s favorite shoe is also renewed, reducing the weight by 21 gr with respect to the Speedgoat 4 and gaining 1 mm of height with the ground.

It is a shoe intended for daily training, but that can perform very well in races, especially in ultras, even technical.

These Speedgoat 5 mount a Vibram MegaGrip sole with Traction Lugs technology and 5mm studs that promise to improve traction by 20%.

HOKA CARBON X 3

The competition shoe, par excellence of HOKA, with carbon plate is also renewed by changing the foam of the midsole being this new more reactive. Likewise, the cover has been redesigned to offer a better hold and adjustment which in turn make it 17 grams lighter than the Carbon X 2, with only 222 gr.

It includes the same carbon plate technology as its predecessor as well as an aggressive meta-rocker, to propel you forward.

The PROFLY™ midsole cushions the tread and offers a more resounding boost along with a super light bottom layer (the same new foam that the Canon X mounts) and carbon plate from the heel to the fingers that acts as a strut to provide propulsion.

SOLE

The EVA’s outsole provides light contact with the ground and improves cushioning responsiveness.

HOKA MACH SUPERSONIC

These Mach Supersonic arrive in the line of the Mach 4 as a daily training shoe, without carbon plate, very light, only 232 grams and with the new PROFLY foam™ in the midsole that improved make them comfortable and reactive.
