TRAIL 100 ANDORRA DEBUTS WITH FOUR MOUNTAIN RACES (24-27JUN). Today our TRAILRUNNING CALENDAR 2021 celebrates today the inaugural edition of these mountain races that, managed by Ironman, will be part of the new Andorra Multisport Festival.

The runners will be able to experience a race range from the 7.5k of the Family to the fierce 125k / + 8,810m of the Ultra, passing through the Trail 55 / + 47560 and the Trail 25. The main base will be Ordino. Among the favorites of the queen race 125KM will be we can point out to Pau Capell, Cristofer Clemente and Claudia Tremps or Marta Coragua among the women.

The Andorra Multisport Festival, by Ironman, is a key bet by Andorrra Turismo for 2021. The sports mega-event will have up to 1.5Mill. € subsidy from the Andorra Government. And thanks to this, the leading multinational in the endurance sports business this year will launch five events that seek to offer the highest level of sport for July 2021: Ultra trail, MTB, Triathlon 70.3. Winter Triathlon and Road Cycling.

The resignation of Cims Magiques a few months ago to continue organizing Andorra Ultra Trail, thus gives way to Ironman. The multinational thus adds Trail 100 Andorra to its other well-known ultras such as: Ultra Trail Australia, Tarawera and Mozart 100.

Not only that, because last 6MAY we already saw how Ironman raised his bet for the mountain with the joint launch of the new UTMB World Series that we already explained here. We review below for a moment the video of the official presentation of this new world project … and then let’s go to Ordino to better understand those four races and how to register for its inaugural edition.

TRAIL 100 ANDORRA PYRENEES 2021: INAUGURAL EDITION PROGRAM.

The Trail 100 Andorra-Pyrenees will offer a range of four options: The first test to start will also be the queen test. The Ultra will be held on June 25 and will have 125 kilometers. The second will be Trail 55, which starts on June 26, over 56.8k. The 27JUN will put the final icing on the cake with two shorter tests, promotion. On the one hand the Trail 25k over 24.4k and finally the Family of 7.5

ULTRA 125K/ 8.810M+

This race will be aimed at an expert Ultra Trail audience, with very good physical and mental preparation to complete a demanding circuit. The org. promises that the tour will be as extreme as it is rewarding.

Being the country where adventure and competition come together, there are many sporting events that have hosted these impressive mountains. Trail 100 Andorra-Pyrenees was born with the desire to propose a race designed by and for mountain runners, discovering paths and steps that have never been part of any competition.

Thus, the Carroi crest, considered the most spectacular in the principality, will be covered at night in the ultra distance, offering a special and unique image of the valley with Andorra La Vella and Escaldes as a backdrop.

Linking the 4 guarded refuges in Andorra, the runners will go around the country, crowning some of the many peaks of the Principality, including Pic del Comapedrosa, the highest in Andorra. A high mountain circuit designed to enjoy the beauty of nature.

TRAIL 55K/ 4.760M+

This race will be aimed at an expert Ultra Trail audience, with very good physical and mental preparation to complete a demanding circuit.

The route is also of a high technical difficulty, since the participants will have to crown the 3 great Peaks of the Principality: the Pico del Casamanya, the Pico del Comapedrosa, the highest in Andorra, and the Pico de Carroi.

TRAIL 25KM/ 2320M+

This race is aimed at an audience of an average level of Trail with a good state of form. And beware, it does not give anything away despite its content covered. It is a route of medium difficulty, and its most special point will be the Pico de Casamanya, one of the most emblematic mountains in the country.

It is a peak located in the middle of the Principality and with unparalleled views. In the second part of the tour, the athletes will pass through the Roc de la Cauba, a panoramic balcony in the north of the country.
