SCARPA RIBELLE RUN XT: ALL ARROUND TRAIL RUNNING SHOES. Our TRAIL RUNNING SHOES presents today a more protected and more versatile version for the mountain of the Ribelle Run champion of Zegama Aizkorri 2023 with Merillas.

The SCARPA RIBELLE RUN XT comes with a price around RRP € 150, a high weight of 355gr (295gr woman) a drop 6mm, height to the ground 22.5-28.5m and an exceptional sole Presa TRN-05.

The Scarpa Ribelle Run has been a great success these last two years. They have shod elites like Antonio Martínez or Manuel Merillas in great triumphs achieved under all kinds of conditions, from the Alps to the very recent Zegama in the rain. But they have also given a great performance to many popular, as is the case of our editor Mayayo who shared satisfied the results of the first 300km together, from Guadarrama to Col d’Aubisque in the Pyrenees. The fScarpa Ribelle Run XT is a reinforced version for more mountaineering use. It gains no less than 75 grams compared to the original version, changes its drop from 4mm to 6mm and raises the height to the ground from 20.5-26.5 to 22.5-28.5mm. And there are even more differences….

And, the type of use for which they are designed goes far beyond a specific footwear for mountain races and will allow us to take them to the mountain in almost any type of circumstance: Trail running, yes. Also ultra trails, hiking, trekking, mountain crossings, three thousand and much more. Below we present the original RIBELLE RUN (yellow) and this more reinforced and mountainous version RIBELLE RUN XT (red)

• WEIGHT: 355g, which is 105gr more than its sisters the Ribelle Run, much heavier.
• DROP: 6mm, an intermediate drop to avoid forcing with low drops, 2mm higher than the demanding Ribelle Run that goes with the 4mm of optimal biomechanical performance, but that demand fine technique.
• STACK HEIGHT: 22.5/28.5mm. Higher than its sisters front (+2.5mm) and back (+4.5mm) A rise of the most logical to gain some extra cushioning.
• OUTSOLE: Pres TRN-05. Specific sole created for this model from the TRN-01 DAM.

To understand well to what extent we have under our feet a “tank” to move through the mountains, we must understand that this Ribelle Run XT is the daughter of the Scarpa Ribelle Run trail champions shoes … but also granddaughter of one of the great lineages of hiking boots in recent years, the Scarpa Ribelle.

Logical, then, that from the Italians a synthesis of both worlds has been sought, thus rejuvenating a category of tank shoes where before were the Adidas Response, Salomon XT Wings and so many others, of which today the Mizuno Wave Mujin and La Sportiva Ultra Raptor are barely in stores.

A very interesting mountain mountain running shoe, for the popular runner. If you only do mountain races, have good technique and a medium-low weight, its sister the Ribelle Run is much more competitive without a doubt.

Now, if you are both a mountaineer and a runner and you are interested in a good shoe for running, climbing peaks or even climbing, this is the one for you. Born to do the Ehunmilak or the 100km of Canfanc one week, and the next to climb the Balaitous by the Gran Diagonal, crown the Aneto from the Renclusa or launch yourself for the Trans-Pyrenees. The type of shoe that gives confidence on classic III climbs like the chimneys at the top of the Midi d’Ossau.
