SALOMON SENSE RIDE 5: HIGHLIGHTS

The main thing about these Salomon Sense Ride is their versatility, they are equally valid for training, a very fast race, short distances or ultra distances. As well as its adaptability to all types of terrain. What makes them very interesting shoes. To highlight the new midsole with Energy Save, to give us great cushioning, and energy return.

UPPER

Made with Engineered Mesh, which according to what the brand tells us, is a structure that will offer us greater support, durability and breathability. And also the SensiFit technology will provide us with a much more comfortable, secure and almost customizable fit.

MIDSOLE

This is where we find a big change, they put aside the Optivibe system and incorporate Energy Foam, a lighter and more reactive foam. So, as the brand says, they should offer more comfortable and durable cushioning, and better energy return with rebound.
It also includes Profeel Film, to provide the tread with more stability and softness in contact with the ground.

SOLE

The sole that this shoe will use is the All Terrain Contagrip, a sole designed so that it can be used on all types of surfaces, wet, dry, slippery or hard. It has 3.5mm studs. Arranged in the front in the shape of a hook to give us more grip going up, and those at the back, to improve grip on descents. With a middle area without studs.

SALOMON SENSE RIDE 5: CONCLUSIONS

It is a shoe in which they have tried to improve what is the fit, comfort, and durability, which is always appreciated. And then in the midsole, which has been endowed with greater cushioning and softness, which makes it has improved in its possible use for ultra-distance races. And it is also supposed to have a better energy return.

It maintains its drop of 8 mm, which makes them good shoes for long running, especially when fatigue begins to appear. What is still a little short, are the cleats, which having a height of 3.5mm and being so close, we will not get the best result on muddy terrain. So it still loses a little of its versatility for all types of terrain.

Finally, given the escalation of prices, those € 130 without being cheap perhaps offer a very interesting balance for a shoe that comes to perform well in almost all types of terrain, and in all kinds of distances. An investment to be easily amortized.
