GARMIN FORERUNNER 965: MULTISPORT GPS AMOLED SCREEN (650€)
GARMIN FORERUNNER 965: MULTISPORT GPS AMOLED SCREEN (650€). Our GPS WATCHES section brings us today the penultimate novelty of the increasingly wide range of Americans. After the leaks of recent weeks about launch dates and functions, we have it already on sale since last 2MAR in the official store, with two versions: Forerunner 965 from 650€ and Forerunner 265m from 500€.
Today we focus on the GARMIN FORERUNNER 965 as the top of the range. The key difference is that it applies the AMOLED screen that we already knew from its previous Epix and Venu brothers, and that it does so avoiding punishing the battery as much as has happened to some rival brands. In exchange, the jump with respect to the Forerunner 955 must be paid because it represents a surcharge of € 100. Good time to buy it if you are not convinced by the 965 improvements.

MULTISPORT GPS AMOLED SCREEN (650€)
The GARMIN FORERUNNER range has always been the main workhorse for athletes with an urban vocation, being its brothers FENIX, TACTICX or INSTINCT those reserved for the marketing of the house for the different types of people of the mountains and nature, just as the MARQ range is for lovers of classic Swiss haute horlogerie.
The brand new GARMIN FORERUNNER 965 is another step in that line: It maintains the positioning in the medium-high range of the huge catalog of the American house where it operates as an alternative to its brothers Garmin Fenix 7, Garmin Tacticx, Garmin Marq 2 and Garmin Instinct Crossover in terms of functions, while the Forerunner 265 stands with € 500 a step € 150 below At the end of the article we present complete comparative analysis of the four alternative Garmin sagas as a help.

GARMIN FORERUNNER 965:
REVIEWED BY MAYAYO
The GARMIN FORERUNNER saga has been a safe bet for more than a decade as a multisport gps watch focused on urban environments for running, triathlon or similar. And, beyond the first generations of that pioneer Forerunner in red and black, plus the second in orange, which I had the displeasure of buying and that lasted little when dying for the battery, the other Forerunner have almost always been a good balance functions-price-durability-consistency. This was not going to be different, especially when the key change comes from implementing a new screen already tested in Epix a long time ago.
We take that base, we raise the size a little so that more battery enters and looks better and the rest we bet on the functions already known and successfully tested in Forerunner 955. It is not the only novelty, of course, but if you follow us here you will have already seen the different modular advances applied especially in that revived EPIX.
Even so, of course it has some new functions, but nothing that all its brothers will not also have with the program of continuous updating of the software of each watch. And, being FORERUNNER the urban banner of gps garmin, as the FENIX saga for the mountain races it would be absurd to risk revolutionary functions that can hit us like a boomerang on a large scale if something goes wrong. Here everything is tried and well tested. What you read works and works well to get the most out of the Garnin universe.
The problem once again is how to separate him from his brothers as to where and how to get each one right. Battery life will be a key factor, more powerful in almost all its siblings cited as an alternative. That it has Amoled now will surely bring back Forerunner those who were seduced by Epix in its premiere. And so many more combinations… Without ruling out of course, buying the 955 version just begins to reflect the price reductions of not being the newest in the store.
In return, I insist, if you are a multiathlete with a focus on urban sports and you have opted for the Garnin range, it is a fixed shot. The price, yes, speaks well of other alternatives either in Garmin or in rival brands such as Polar, Coros or Suunto that have focused on promoting medium ranges of € 500 down with a value for money more than interesting.
