HOKA CLIFTON 9: CONCLUSION

For me, and it is a clear personal opinion, it is one of the great training shoes of 2021. Ideal for our daily shoots and it has been one of the shoes that we have liked the most and with which we have found ourselves very comfortable from the first kilometres.

It is not surprising that it is one of the most popular and best-selling models of the North American brand and it is that the range of runners it is intended for is very wide, since we can ride with them at rather “slow” rates but we can also squeeze them. no problem at faster paces as it is a relatively light shoe for a training shoe.

The good fit of the foot in the shoe, the good breathability of the upper and a sole that we liked a lot, not only for its design but also for its durability and adaptation to other terrains beyond asphalt (dirt and gravel) and a good grip on wet ground, are other aspects that we would like to highlight about the Clifton 8.

The Hoka Clifton trail running shoe saga has always opted to be the perfect shoe for long distances and daily training. The type of user who can get the most juice out of him has always been the medium/high weight mountain runner who does many kilometers throughout the year.

These new Hoka Clifton 9 maintain the same DNA, although now perhaps more open to both the beginner (without forgetting that 5mm drop) and the sandpiper
experienced, who want to enjoy more of every kilometer on their long runs.

For those less familiar with the brand, don’t forget its pillars. Low drop, low weight, and the brand’s well-known Meta-rocker (rocker chassis) in
this case without forcing too much, looking for a more smooth entry to the cycle of
career: Landing-Support-Takeoff-Flight.

The key novelty is, for me, the new compression-moulded EVA midsole which, as the brand promises us, is not only lighter, but also more reactive, as well as those reinforced tongue.

We’ll talk to you about how they work together, and about the shoe’s durability as soon as they don’t arrive to shoot them with the in-depth test.

Meanwhile, here we leave you what was the 250km test of its predecessor, the CLIFTON 8, which by the way you can still find in stores at a more friendly price, of course.
