A door to trail shoe which performs well on asphalt and narrow mid-mountain trails, but its essence is wide dirt tracks. This Challenger 7 came with a price of 150€, have a 5 mm drop and a weight of 252 grams.

The Challenger 7 that arrives with several novelties of interest, but maintaining the same role in its catalog. This is a trail running shoe that is the most logical entry for those who want to try the brand for the first time, due to its price and type of use. Street-approved. Trail tested. Built at the intersection of road and trail, the new Challenger 7 has been completely reimagined from the ground up.
Combining a simplified mesh upper with a soft new foam, we’ve increased the stack height for a plusher feel and added proprietary rubber to the bottom unit, along with a reimagined outsole design for the best all-terrain ride yet.
Inspired by gravel tires, we’ve cued up smaller, tightly spaced lugs in center and larger, more aggressive lugs at the perimeter designed for improved traction on uneven terrain.

UPPER
As has been the trend in the latest HOKA shoes, the top mesh material has been obtained through recycled materials, and in this case it comes with a single layer to reduce weight, designed to provide more breathability and comfort.
MIDOSLE
New compression molded EVA foam midsole to provide a plush feel and provides protective cushioning while maintaining t responsiveness.
SOLE
Durabrasion rubber and 4mm lugs to help us in the easy trails and tracks.
HOKA CHALLENGER 7: CONCLUSIONS
In short, the Challenger 7 remains the most logical entry into the brand’s maximalism. It stands out as an option for long mountain races on easy/accessible terrain.
Its versatile and comfortable configuration makes it especially suitable for long runs on tracks. It will also perform decently on moderate trails, without much mud and even allows you to run comfortably on asphalt.
Due to its more accessible price, although not as much as before, often the fans of the brand will use it as their long and simple shoe on a daily basis, to be combined with something more agile or technical to compete.
