TOR DES GEANTS 2022
The TOR330 – Tor des Géants® is the first and only race to combine long distance with the individual style of runners: the organisation does not impose any compulsory stages, and the winner will be the runner who completes the race in the shortest time, making his or her own decisions on when and how long to stop for rest and refreshment.
The Tor des Géants® is the first race of this kind to cover an entire region, running along its spectacular paths at the foot of the highest Four-Thousanders in the Alps and through the Gran Paradiso Natural Park and the Mont Avic Regional Park. All of these particular features help make this such a unique, inimitable race. This trail is more than just a competitive sports event; it is also a way to promote tourism in the Valle d’Aosta, through the municipalities the race runs through.

TOR DES GEANTS 2022:
JONAS RUSSI & SABRINA VERJEE (NEW RECORD)
WIN THE TOR 330
The enormous advantage accumulated along the 330 kilometers that from Courmayeur, from where he left on Sunday morning at 10, brought him back to the foot of Mont Blanc, allowed him to better manage not only the great effort but also the rain, during the last night: Jonas Russi, therefore, is the new king of TOR330 – Tor des Géants®. The Swiss arrived in Courmayeur at 8.31 after 70 hours 31 minutes and 36 seconds.
Russi was speechless – both because of the fatigue (he slept only 17 minutes) and the emotions for his undertaking.

A desired undertaking, sought after, after the bitterness of last year when, on his debut, he abdicated after the Champillon Refuge, giving way to Franco Collé, to whom he had stood up to there and with whom he had won the SwissPeaks 360 in 2020.
This year the italian already retired on the first evening, then slowly all his other direct opponents, and so Russi started alone without wanting to save his energies. His advantage over his pursuers increased to over five hours, but he did not want to make any calculations despite the fact that at the eve he had some doubts about his physical condition and was undecided whether to participate in the toughest endurance trail in the world.
Russi, born in 1985, two weeks before the start of the TOR had run the 170 kilometers of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in an excellent manner, finishing in eighth position, as well as having obtained a sixth place at the Lavaredo Ultra Trail at the end of June.
Behind him the three Italians are arriving, with Simone Corsini leading over Andrea Macchi who in the meantime has detached Andrea Mattiato. For the women race, here is yet another twist of the race: between the Magià Refuge and the Cuney Sabrina Verjee has surpassed Silvia Trigueros Garrote, in crisis as she had perhaps never seen in recent years at TOR.
Sabrina Verjee has certainly found a way to stand out in the international trail scene, with an impressive showdown at TOR330 – Tor des Géants®: she won the women ranking of the toughest endurance trail in the world with a stratospheric time of 80h19’38”, the first woman under 85 hours.
It is difficult not to define it as a record, despite the change of route that excluded Col Brison, with Verjee who finished in fifth place in the scratch ranking, after having long chased Silvia Trigueros Garrote who seemed to have no rivals and who, until yesterday, was on her way to win her fourth TOR. Instead, the British gradually recovered ground on the Basque, nibbling minutes after minutes yesterday evening and finding the overtaking between the Magià Refuge and the Cuney Refuge around midnight. Garrote, who ran at her best, did not have the strength to remain attached to Sabrina Verjee, who increased the advantage more and more. Trigueros Garrote finished in second place in 84h58’55”.
