The second edition, which will be held from 7 to 10 July in the Val d’Aran, exceeds the previous figures. There will be more than 3,700 runners from more than 70 different countries such as France, UK, Portugal, USA, Argentina, Belgium, Poland, Hong Kong, Japan, Egypt or Vietnam, will meet in one of the most important trail events in Europe.

Val d’Aran by UTMB was one of the first events to join the UTMB® World Series and, with only one edition, it has become the European final of the circuit, being one of the two UTMB® World Series Majors that will be in the world in 2022, in the absence of a new American appointment for 2023 being confirmed.

Being a Major event means that, in addition to having a significant prize pool, the top ten men and the top ten women of each Val d’Aran by UTMB® race will get a direct place in the UTMB® World Series Finals, in the equivalent category, which will be held in Chamonix.

The fact of becoming UTMB® World Series Major together with Doi Inthanon Thailand by UTMB®, in Thailand, and being the European final of the UTMB® World Series is undoubtedly a great claim for runners, since it is the main access route to participate in the OCC®, the CCC®, or the UTMB®, which each year receive more than 30,000 bib applications and are held at the end of August in Chamonix.
