HOKA ANACAPA GTX: MID GTX & LOW GTX, FAST HIKING SHOES.

HOKA ANACAPA GTX: MID GTX & LOW GTX, FAST HIKING SHOES. Our HIKING SHOES section brings you today the great bet for running and walking from the maximalist brand: HOKA.

Almost a year ago, we presented here the first HOKA ANACAPA. This 2022 the brand relaunches the model, insisting on the versatility of its male and female versions, mid or low cane and all with gore-tex membrane for autumn and winter. Let’s go with the analysis by Mayayo.

HOKA ANACAPA GTX:
MID GTX & LOW GTX, FAST HIKING SHOES.

The Hoka Anacapa are the great relaunch of the brand for fast hiking in the coming autumn / winter. They come in four versions: There are men’s hiking shoes and women’s hiking shoes. In addition, within them, high cane shoes (Anacapa Mid) or low (Anacapa Low). Of course, the four with gore-tex membrane.

The Anacapa Mid GTX and Low GTX models are for this brand the gateway to a wider range of shoes. Born for mountain races (see story below) they then opened up to asphalt running.

Now, consolidated its success in both markets, it expands to the rest of outdoor and outdoor activities. Designed to be a light hiking shoe, Hoka thus approaches the largest group of people who go out to the mountain, with shoes that perform in their own thing, either long or short distance.

HOKA ANACAPA MID GTX VS HOKA ANACAPA LOW GTX.

As the brand argues, the Hoka Anacapa Mid GTX provides the necessary ankle support on longer walks, while the Anacapa Low GTX version is a lighter exploration shoe, which encourages adventure in environments ranging from city streets, to a neighborhood park, and even beyond.

They position them with a high price, of € 170 (Mid) and € 155 (Low). Even so, reasonable for shoes with membrane. And of course, after almost a year in the market, you can already find relevant offers. The truth is that the launch of both, previously in the original version without mebrana and now with the gore-tex makes kuntas, Anacapa Mid GTX and Anacapa Low GTX offer a range of hiking shoes men and women off-road for the whole year. From the summer heat to the snows of winter.

HOKA ANACAPA LOW GTX

The Anacapa Low GORE-TEX are a low-profile version of the Anacapa Mid GORE-TEX, hiking boots for daily use made according to the brand, thinking about responsible manufacturing.

It is a model that seeks to be versatile, even to be able to run / walk with them. Designed with lightweight leather certified by the Leather Working Group, it uses recycled polyester on the neck.

HOKA ANACAPA LOW GTX: HIGHLIGHTS.

As you can see in the image above, almost all Hoka shoes (the Torrent as an exception) share basic principles: More than 20mm. damping, contained weights (264-400gr), medium drop (4-6mm), a rocker chassis and an oversized sole in width that stabilizes the height to the ground and distributes the weight better.

Reinforced robustness: Lögicamente, in these hiking shoes has prevailed robustness in exchange for a little more weight than in trail running shoes. Hence those leather reinforcements and the use of the gore-tex membrane all of which add up to grams.

  • Light foam: For its hiking shoes, Hoka stays true to its patented EVA rubber blend. They emphasize that it is more elastic, for better support and energy return.
They also argue that it is more durable than traditional EVA. . The foam has been given different names, including RMAT and R-Bound, but the underlying chemistry is essentially the same.
  • Rocker chassis: Embodied in names like Meta-Rocker and the Active Foot Frame.
The Meta-Rocker is a combination of a low heel tip drop and a rounded sole shape that depending on the house, complements the natural stride and helps propel it forward.
  • The Active Foot Frame cradles the foot deeper into the midsole of the shoe, providing more support while running. Hoka compares the design to sitting in a low-cube seat of a race car. And it is true, that peculiar adjustment made that for many people, their lasts became narrow for years.

HOKA ANACAPA MID/LOW GTX. CONCLUSIONS.

This second wave of the Hoka Anacapa is a commitment to hiking shoes within the brand. A bet, it is true, that the same market has asked them, as they adopt more and more their trail running shoes to make the great hiking trails throughout the United States.

Unlike sisters like the Tennine or Speedgoat the Anacapa has been born by and for trekking, although of course it will allow us to alternate running and walking if we want to.

The huge range of the shoe, with two versions by sexes, plus two per height of cane and with three colors in each case makes it clear that a best-selling trekking shoe is sought, Surely it will be only the first step of a range that, as in mountain races first and running shoes later, we will see it grow later.

And as a first step, it certainly promises…. wishing to be able to fit them to complete this technical analysis with their real performance in our Pyrenees, Picos de Europe, Montserrat, Sierra Nevada, Gredos, Guadarrama and others. We’ll tell you.
