TRANSGRANCANARIA 2022 VERTICAL KILOMETER IN AGAETE.
The Vertical Kilometer of Transgrancanaria 2022 baptized as ‘The Giant’ has been in charge of starting the competition yesterday afternoon, Thursday, March 3. The test has had limited numbers since the time trial system will be used with individual starts.
With ‘El Gigante’, the Transgrancanaria returns to one of the emblematic municipalities of its twenty years of life, Agaete, and to one of the most spectacular areas of the island such as the Tamadaba massif.
KILOMETRO VERTICAL EL GIGANTE: THE TRACK.
The start of this new modality will take place in the neighborhood of San Pedro, and the goal will be in the recreational area of Tamadaba. The race will have some vertigo figures: more than 1,100 meters of positive slope accumulated in just 5.5 kilometers, an impressive climb that will demand the maximum from the participants while enjoying privileged views of Gran Canaria.
The collaboration of the municipality of Agaete has been key for ‘El Gigante’ to be a reality in 2022. For many years, Puerto de las Nieves was the scene of the departure of the Transgrancanaria, and will now house this Vertical Kilometer.
