ASICS GEL-NIMBUS LITE 3:  PERFORMANCE LIGHTWEIGHT SHOES, SOFT AND GREEN STANDARD. Our RUNNING SHOES section brings us today the another novelty for this 2022, the new ASICS GEL-NIMBUS LITE 3 recently launched in the US market. The latest addition to the family of the Nimbus family, which sisters we introduced you last week here.

The renewed shoes, an icon of the Japanese brand, arrived to the US market with a price of 160$, a weight of 260 g. for men and 236 g. for women, similar to the GEL-Nimbus LITE 2 but  almost 30 grams lighter than the GEL-Nimbus 24, but maintaining the same drop of 10 mm for the male version and 13 mm for the female version.

ASICS GEL-NIMBUS LITE 3: HIGHLIGHTS

The GEL-NIMBUS® LITE 3 comes with zthe following highlights:

  • Recycled upper: At least 60% of the shoe’s upper polyester are made with recycled materials.
  • Gusseted knit tongue: soft and stretchy tongue creates an adaptable and confortable fit.
  • Rearfoot-Forefoot GEL® Technology: Technology Cushioning System
  • New ASICS LITE outsole: Full-ground contact design creates a smoother and more efficient ride

UPPER

The upper is made with an engineered mesh that wraps the foot with a soft feel while improving breathability, made at least with 60% polyester recycled materials with to reduce waste and carbon emissions.

On top of that, the laser-cut sidewall detailing improves deformation at footstrike.

MIDSOLE

Created with the FLYTEFOAM™cushioning which is formed with organically derived materials that improve impact absorption and keep the shoe lightweight . Apart from the FF+, the shoe mounts the classic rearfoot and forefoot GEL® Technology Cushioning System from the japanese brand, which attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle.
In comparison with the GEL-Nimbus 24, the midsole is here only made out of one compound which, most likely, is the reason by which this shoe is almost 30 grams lighter as the Nimbus 24.

 

OUTSOLE

Its made out of the new ASICS LITE™ rubber which is lighter, stronger, and more sustainable than standard other utsole rubbers. Moreover, the full-ground contact design creates a smoother and more efficient ride.

ASICS GEL-NIMBUS LITE 3: CONCLUSION

We have here a performance running style shoes with sustainable practices, showing how important is now a days that all big brand compromises themselves also which more green policies. All in all a daily training shoe with great cushion and confort that arrives as a lighter alternative of the GEL-Nimbus 24 which, why not, could even be a performance competition shoe.
