100 MILES (10.51.39) & 12 HOURS (177 KM) WORLD RECORD:
DOUBLE WR FOR SOROKIN IN TEL AVIV.
Sorokin’s brand new record time for the new 100-miles goes to 10:51:39. It means lowering his previous time of 11:14:56 no less than 24 minutes, running an average of 4.03min/km
Not happy with this, Sorokin went on a little longer to set a new world record 12 hours. In this case, Sorokin finished the race with a provisional distance of 177km. It is again a great jump, well ahead of his previous world record of 12 hours of 170.3km His average pace has been 4.04min/km in this case.

SOROKIN ULTRARUNNING WORLD RECORDS
The most media record of the best ultra long-distance runner in history, so it had been considered the mark of 303.3km set by Yiannis Kouros in 1997 A few months ago, we saw the assault made by Kilian Jornet in Norway, Kilian left after 135km in 10h19m at a pace of 4.35min/km.
Sorokin achieved it last August 2021. The 2019 24-hour World Champion surpassed Yiannis Kouros’ 1997 world record of 303.3 km with no less than 33 minutes left in the race. In the final stretch, he turned to take the record to 309.4km.
A magical year: After setting a 100-mile world record of 11:14:56 in April this year at centurion, he then continued his run for another 45 minutes to set a 12-hour mark of 170.309 km.
Below you can see the portrait made by Centurion runner of Aleksandr on that big day for him. After that double, the record of the 24h was obviously his unfinished business.
The asphalt circuit used was located in a park in Bieg, Poland. Perfect weather conditions lined up on the one hand, while on the other we enjoyed a race between two world-class competitors. The result brought out the best in each other and leaves us a day for history.
SOROKIN, WORLD ULTRARUNNING KING
For the past six years, Sorokin has made his way to the top of the global ultra-fund. His quick start, his attitude of exrtemo pundonor little by little was giving him dividends. In 2019 he gave us a stellar performance with 278.972 km in Albi, France, to take the world championship.
Last year, in August 2020, at the same UltraPark event in Poland, Sorokin set an excellent time of 6:43:13 for 100 km. In fact, according to all the pools, the 100-mile record was already threatened at the beginning of 2021 in the Centurion Running event.
Now. just started this 2022 in a splendid way, It has surpassed itself by a wide margin in addition. It leaves us with reasonable doubt as to how far it can go.
And of course, if the honorary title of best ultra-distance runner in history, held by Yiannis Kouros for more than 20 years, continues, he could finally find himself in danger.
ULTRARUNNING: AN EXTREMELY COMPLEX CHALLENGE.
And if, of course, as with the new world records in marathon and half marathon, there will be those who attribute Sorokin’s takeoff to the new era of carbon plates.
Now, as we saw with KIlian (without carbon, by the way) it is not as simple as training, applying the best technology of your brand and your team to start running for 24 hours.
Among other factors, nutrition and mentality must also be perfect, just as we have seen the popios Kilian Jornet and Eliud Kipchoge work thoroughly. And it’s never easy. It takes years to achieve such a performance, a secret formula that yesterday in Poland, Sorokin knew how to combine perfectly.
