LUIS ALBERTO HERNANDO FKT ANETO (3404m):FKT TO HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN THE PYRENEES. Luis Alberto Hernando already has a FKT! He went up in 2h14m lowering in 4 minutes the time of Borja Fernández in 2020. He managed to complete the descent in 1h24, record time also, to add the descent and the total.

Today, Thursday, July 15, the three-time ultras world champion Luis Hernando, has launched to lower the FKT ráoida mark of ascent-descent to the Aneto peak from Benasque.
After not having been able to run the recent Skyrunning World Cup because it was not possible for him to attend the previous FEDME call, Luis was looking today to set a goal in an atypical season. So, he has chosen the Aneto because it is the highest peak in the Pyrenees and because it is a goal that will force him to squeeze to the maximum.
The current record belonged to the Cantabrian Borja Fernández who in August 2020 reduced by 9′ the ascent / descent time of Quico Soler leaving the new time in 3h43’09”. Fernández also beat the record of the ascent that in 2017, Marc Pinsach set in 2h20’15” and that he lowered to 2h18’36”.

FKT ANETO LUIS ALBERTO HERNANDO: CHRONICLE & EQUIPMENT
Luis Alberto has started the race at 6.15h in the morning, choosing the route of the Vallibierna Valley and Ibones de Coronas for being the shortest and the one that previous runners had chosen. The route represented a total of 37 kilometers with 2,397m of altutude gain.
The three times World Champion runner and member of the adidas TERREX team needed a total of 3 hours, 38 minutes and 15 seconds to beat the record using the fastest shoes of the brand of the three bands for Trail Running: the Adidas TERREX Speed Ultra.
Luis Alberto has lowered by almost 5 minutes the previous record, located in 3 hours, 43 minutes and 9 seconds, thus achieving the FKT of the Aneto.
During the race Luis Alberto has had the help of five collaborators in the work of provisioning and delivery and collection of material. The Spanish Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing (FEDME) has been in charge of certifying the record of ascent and descent of the Aneto, working on technical issues such as the control of the itinerary. Ramón Bellera, Fernando Navarro and José Ramón Díaz have been the referee judges in charge of certifying the record with all the guarantees.

Luis has achieved his challenge today.
With a final time of 3h38m14s he has lowered by no less than 5min the great mark achieved by Borja Fernández in 2020.
The partials timings have been:
- ASCENT 2h14: A magnificent climb, where he scored no less than 4min below the previous record.
- DESCENT 1H24: A complex descent always, which in this case managed to complete in 1min less than the mark of Borja.
