VAL D’ARAN BY UTMB: CDH 105K VICTORIES FOR ARITZ EGEA & FELICIANA ORQUIOLA. Our TRAIL RUNNING CALENDAR section, brings us today the results of the first of four mountain races that are being cellebrated this weekedn at Val d’Aran in the Spanish Pyrenees.
Aritz Egea 13h03 and Feliciana Orquiola 17h30 got the vistories in this CDH 105 KM 6.500M+, both very solid, leading from start to finish. Yesterday evening the VDA 162 KM started and today teh PDA 55KM and 15KM. Let’s go now with our VAL D’ARAN BY UTMB LIVE CDH 105KM.

CDH 105K VICTORIES FOR ARITZ EGEA & FELICIANA ORQUIOLA
CAMINS D’HÈR – CDH 105 KM 6.500M D+ | 6.200M D-
Camins d’Hèr translates as Iron Roads. A tour of the wildest and highest parts of the Val d’Aran. 105 km with two very different areas: one, where the past and the hardness of the mountain take center stage, and another, where the water takes over presenting itself under different forms of lakes, waterfalls and rivers. The old mining past of the Valley is discovered in this spectacular race, which crosses tunnels and mines at the foot of the imposing Mauberme.
The Basque Aritz Egea is one of the runners who will take the start early in the morning (07:30h) on Friday, July 9 in Les: the Gipuzkoan, accustomed to shorter distances, has this year the objective of testing himself in the ultra-distance.
HIGHLIGHT: Finishers get direct access – without a draw – guarantee access to the CCC®, TDS® or OCC 2022 (or 2023 if there are not enough places available in 2022), provided they have a sufficient number of ITRA points.
CDH 105K, RACE CHRONICLE. ARITZ EGEA & FELICIANA ORQUIOLA.
The Basque Aritz Egea is perhaps the best known among those who have taken the exit early in the morning today, Friday, July 9 in Les: Aritz is used to shorter distances, making his leap to the ultra today.

In the women’s race. Feliciana Orquiola passed Sant Joan as solo leader after 1h36, followed by Lucy Sacarello with 1h38 and Anna Clapes in 1h42.
The race continues and the passage through Beret after 47k already offers us a great reference. Aritz is in the lead, scoring 5h05 of the race. He now has a minimum gap of 30sec over an Isaac Salvat who is holding up very well there. Behind them, in another film already, March to 14 minutes Daniel Colom and Pepelu Ballester, while Andres Viedma closes the top5 and about 20 minutes from the head at the moment.

We were already waiting for the passage through Salardu in the 56k. Estimated at around 1.30 p.m. yesterday. It will be 6 hours of race and they would have passed the equator the race, which may see the head of the race reach the finish line of Vielha around 18h yesterday.

He led with authority from start to finish, despite the resistance of a brave Isaac Salvat. Gold for Aritz with 13h03, silver for Isaac Salvat with 13h21. Lovely race that we have both offered. Daniel Colom takes the bronze cn 13h29. The third in discord until the end.
FELICIANA ORQUIOLA WINS CDH-105K VAL D’ARAN BY UTMB!
FELICIANA dominated the race with an iron fist, leading from start to finish and always outstanding. In the end, she crossed champion after 17h30 of race. Carmen Biosca made silver with 19h41m and bronze for Gina Julia with 20h02.
