NIKE AIR ZOOM PEGASUS 38: HIGHLIGHTS.
The brand itself defines them on its website as “The off-roader with wings” In this new edition, the Pegasus presents changes where the midfoot adjustment stands out.
For this 2021, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38 continues to seek to cushion every step with the same reactive foam as its predecessors. The upper does vary, with a mesh that seeks to combine comfort and durability based on a FlyEase input system to make them easy to put on.
The upper of the Air Zoom Pegasus 38 is built with engineered mesh that is breathable in some places and reinforced in others, thus seeking to combine fit and support.
The damping does not vary much: it follows the Zoom Air system and the Nike React foam all the way along look for a cushioned response and smooth transition. The Zoom Air unit on the fore foot also adds for the energy return. Now, the improved mid-foot system features more React foam than the 37, soft enough to wrap your foot and moves and bends easily, without touching the bottom before bouncing.
The shoe last gains space in front: it provides more toe space. An adjustment that veterans of this model may remenber if the used the Pegasus 36.. The tab now comes as a separate piece with extra foam. The fit is tuned with a new individual belt system on the middle of the foot that allows each runner to tie up for a custom fit.
NIKE AIR ZOOM PEGASUS 38; RUNNERS TYPE.
Like all classic best-sellers, the Pegasus 38 is focused on the average runner of the pack. That is, they are neutral shoes, with a medium weight, medium cushioning and average performance.
They will do better to anyone who is looking for an extremely comfortable, familiar and reliable shoe that over time has been polished. For the mid-runner of the pack, with weights between 65-75kg, medium technique and runs of 40-50min at 10k, these shoes offer reliable consistency and comfort in daily training.
For runners with more weight or on the contrary, lighter and more competitive, there are other more suitable solutions in the catalog of the amercian brand.
