HOKA MACH 4: DAILY TRAINING RUNNING SHOES. Our RUNNING SHOES section brings you today the fourth versióm of the HOKA MACH saga. These are training shoes for asphalt, well cushioned as they are agile. It is not easy to combine both lines, but the French-American of Hoka One One bet years ago on a maximalist design, maximizing cushioning as a differential feature, maintaining very contained weights.

A lightweight shoe with just 232 grams provides up to 24mm of mattress under the fingers and 29mm the heel. Let’s go with the technical analysis by Abel de Frutos. HOKA, THE ORIGIN: Hoka One One was born as a brand of French origin with the vocation to improve the running experience by leaning on several pillars common to its entire range from the beginning: Higher damping volume; Softer midsole and midsole density; Increased sense of bounce in every step; Chassis design in rocker and with low drops. Let’s now see how these principles are embodied in this Hoka Mach 4, as in its sisters.

In its fourth edition, for this 2021, the Mach 4 evolves with a design that now arrives based on two of the most innovative shoes in the history of HOKA ONE ONE: Rocket X and Carbon X. Designed to do long workouts, these everyday shoes allow you to step on comfort and offer an energetic feeling that is undoubtedly typical of HOKA’s essence.

HOKA MACH 4: HIGHLIGHTED CHANGES.

What’s changed? According to the brand, they are now softer and more bounced than their previous version. The renewal of this model now uses double EVA densities. Combine a soft, lightweight foam at the top with another rubber foam just below.

The Mach 4 have the PROFLY midsole that also use the fastest models of the brand, which we even saw it also in its Trail range with the Hoka Torrent 2. In addition, on the Mach 4 we see new extraction handle, a renovated upper made with thermosetting TPU yarn embroidery and a refined new neck shape that relieves pressure on the Achilles tendon.

Lightweight, fast and undeniably reactive, the Mach 4 offers a daily dose of speed. As a result, the French brand stands out, Hoka’s regulars will be able to bet on it as a “mixed” shoe to be able to use in workouts as diverse as a fast shoot, long series or a varied session of slopes, speed and controlled rhythms.

HOKA ONE ONE MACH 4. CONCLUSION.

An interesting balance offered by this new Mach 4. It does not use a carbon fiber plate like the Rocket X and Carbon X, but in return it is much cheaper, no less than 40€ less than Carbon and 20€ less than Rocket. In addition, for lightness, agility and reactivity it can be, if you fit the peculiar last and philosophy of the brand, a very versatile and useful shoe: It can fit well for training and competition as it encompasses three main features for a running shoe: cushioning, reactivity and lightness.
