VOLVIC VOLCANIC EXPERIENCE 2021 CANCELLED. In accordance with government guidelines, the organization team of the VOLVIC VOLCANIC EXPERIENCE (VVX) regrets to announce that due to the pandemic of COVID-19, the 2021 edition will not be able to take place from 13 to 15 May 2021.

After the cancellation of the 2020 edition for similar reasons, the organizers were eager to meet the VVX enthusiasts for a 5th edition in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park. But in this context of unprecedented health crisis and while the risks associated with the pandemic are still far from being controlled, the organizers of the VVX wanted to show responsibility by preferring to give an appointment to the entire VVX family next year. This is a difficult decision to make, which demonstrates a genuine desire to put everyone’s health and the fight against the spread of the virus before any other consideration.

Since the beginning of this health crisis, all the players in the event and the outdoors have been impacted. It was therefore important for the VVX to consider all possible options before making a decision. But in the face of this complex situation that continues, the priority of the teams has, once again, been the safety of its participants and volunteers, which is why the cancellation of the 2021 edition is now inevitable. A postponement to the fall this year cannot be envisaged, as the risks associated with the pandemic make the 2021 timetable more than uncertain.

Jean-Michel Chopin, President of the Volvic Experience Association:
“We presented the prefecture with a VVX file including a reinforced COVID protocol. Today, March 26, she sends us a negative response while praising “the quality of the health protocol and the efforts of the VVX team”. It is therefore with disappointment and regret, but also with the feeling of having tried everything to keep it in the best conditions, that we must give up the 2021 edition of the VVX.”

POSTPONEMENT CONDITIONS

The organizing team and its supplier partners, who showed great solidarity, came together to consider the best solutions for all.
Participants will be able to choose between two options:

Transfer your registration to 2022 at no cost. In this case, no action is required from the participants in the immediate future. A link to update your registration will be sent in the summer.
Receive a refund of up to 80% of the registration amount

An email detailing the repayment terms will be sent to participants in early April.

Aware of the disappointment that such a decision will not fail to provoke, the organizers of the VVX would like to thank all the enthusiasts of the event, the runners and the volunteers for their understanding.

The entire organizing team is meeting the VVX community from May 26 to 28, 2022 to properly celebrate the return to conviviality, sharing and competition. Especially to vibrate together in the heart of this authentic territory.
