ANDREA HUSER ACCIDENTALLY DIES AT SAAS-FEE. Silver at UTMB 2016 and 2017. Andrea Huser had a fatal accident while training. At 46, the veteran ultrarunner continued to enjoy the mountain to the fullest, though not at the level of elite competitions.

A trail runner was found dead on Monday in Saas-Fee. According to the police in the canton of Valais, the victim wanted to cross a stream several meters long while training. Apparently, she slipped and fell about 140 meters down a steep slope.
The victim is the exceptional athlete Andrea Huser (46), who is known in the area. She finished his long and successful sporting career in the summer. In 2002 she became European mountain bike champion. She also had succed in triathlon and ultra-trail running, where she won the ultra-trail world tour in 2018.
As reported by the 20Minuten portal, the first research began on Saturday, when police in the canton of Bern received a missing person report and police were called up to the canton of Valais. As a result, search dogs were used to track down missing persons. At the same time, a notification was received from a third party.
Rescue teams at Saastal station found the body in Oberi Schopfen’s place around noon on Sunday. The prosecution, in cooperation with the police in the canton of Valais, has launched an investigation.
Andrea Huser (46) was an exceptional talent. In 2016 and 2017 she made silver at UTMB. while in 2018 she won the Ultra Trail World Tour. Before that, in 2002 she was European Mountain Bike Champion.
