TOR330 – Tor des Géants
TOR330 faced its first night losing some big names: Marco Gubert, winner of Cursa di Ciclopi, a TORX® eXperience race, quit after Rifugio Vittorio Sella, while cramps stopped Danilo Lantermino after Eaux Rousses. Among top runners who had to finish their run also Lawrence Eccles and Alessandra Boifava, also in Eaux Rousses. Even more clamorous the turning points during the hot hours. Andrea Macchi first, then Sabrina Verjee and Katharina Hartmuth, with the first one firmly in the lead but suffering from the effects of an ankle injury, had to quit a fight where they were in the front line.
A bit surprisingly, in front has come Romain Olivier, keeping up with Franco Collé. The two travelled together and kept company during the hardest times – eye problems for the Italian, a long massage in Donnas for the French, and at Col della Vecchia (32h00’) they are running more than one hour earlier than Collé’s record in 2021 (66h43’57”). The two have an advantage of one and a half hour on the chasers: Julien Chorier, Galen Reynolds, Damian Hall, Gianluca Galeati e Corneliu Buliga.
While Sabrina Verjee is out of the game, Emma Stuart and Sophie Grant took advantage of the situation. The woman from New Zealand stopped less than half an hour at Donnas life base and overcame Stuart and Jocelyne Pauly, who was battling with Verjee: speaking of her, her record too is in danger by one hour. On the climb towards Perloz, Emma Stuart detached the previous leader and arrived in Sassa with 20 minutes advantage on Pauly and Grant.
The head of the race is going up towards the Lys Valley and is getting to Gressoney-la-Trinité, where tomorrow at 9 pm TOR130 – Tot Dret will start.

TOR450 – Tor des Glaciers
What Sébastien Raichon is doing is unbelievable: the French arrived in Gressoney at 4.34 pm, 6 hours earlier than last year, when he got to the finish line few minutes before midnight. An excellent race also for Peter Kienzl, in Niel with a 2h17’ delay and an advantage of 1h58’ on Tiaan Erwee.Florence Golay-Germond does not give up. She has an advantage of 5 hours on Amy Sproston and more than 6 on Marina Plavan, but still she entered Donnas at 3.22 pm (and stopped less than one hour), just one hour later than Stephanie Case in 2021, when she finished the 450 km in 155h06’55”.
