This HOKA Tecton X 2 will be available soon, already in the HOKA store online to see them, and come with a price of 220€, already 20 € more than the first version, 252 g which represents also 12 grams more and drop of 5 mm for a height of 32 mm in the back and 27 in the front.

A dynamic shift in trail running. Reengineered to maximize weight savings, the Tecton X 2 has been refined with a brand new Matryx upper. Light, breathable, and inherently hydrophobic, this high-contrast Matryx upper enlists a lay-flat gusseted tongue to help mitigate trail debris.

UPPER
Cruelty-Free: Boasting a vegan upper
Gusseted tongue: a tongue directly attached to the shoe on both sides with a triangular piece of material, forming a gusset. This creates a more secure and snug fit, while also providing protection from dirt, debris, and water entering. The gusseted tongue helps to keep the foot dry and comfortable, especially in wet or muddy conditions.
MIDSOLE
The PROFLY midsole, designed for forgiving landings and propulsive toe-offs which also cushions the tread and offers a more resounding boost along with a super light undercoil and 2 parallel carbon fiber plates from the heel to the fingers that act as struts to provide propulsion, but also allow movement from side to side when it is most needed on the trails.
The dual-density foam midsole to create a super-responsive ride that propels you forward without sacrificing a soft feel.
SOLE
Vibram MegaGrip Lite Base outsole, a thinner overall profile for lighter weight but still 4mm lugs. The zonal rubber Litebase construction keeps the weight low and grips to whatever the trail throws at you.
HOKA TECTON X 2: CONCLUSIONS
The Hoka Tecton X 2 is a trail running shoe that is designed for long-distance running on rugged and technical terrain (to a certain extension). It is the updated version of the original Tecton X model, and features several improvements and upgrades like the complete rennewed upper.
Built for speed, precision, and efficiency on trail, the new Tecton X 2 is clearly a continous bet from HOKA for this 2023, in one of their most succesfull shoes in 2022.
The shoe has a maximalist design, clac of HOKA, with a thick and cushioned sole that provides excellent shock absorption and support. The sole is made of Hoka’s signature PROFLY X foam, which is lightweight and responsive, yet still provides a soft and comfortable ride. The sole also features a Vibram Megagrip outsole, which provides excellent traction on a variety of surfaces, including wet and slippery trails.
The upper of the Tecton X 2 is made of a durable and breathable mesh material, which allows for proper airflow and ventilation. The shoe also has a gusseted tongue, which helps to keep out dirt and debris, and a reinforced toe cap for added protection.
The Tecton X 2 also has several unique design features, including a heel-to-toe drop of 5mm, which provides a more natural and balanced stride, and a Meta-Rocker geometry, which promotes a smooth and efficient running gait.
Overall, the Hoka Tecton X 2 is an excellent choice for trail runners who want a highly cushioned and supportive shoe that can handle technical terrain and long distances in trainings and competitions.
