THE NORTH FACE VENTRIX™: THE LIGHTEST IN THE ENTIRE VENTRIX™ RANGE.

DESIGNED BY AND FOR ATHLETES

Created in collaboration with the TNF trail running athletes, Flight Series™ takes you longer and stronger. And that means adapting to different trail and weather conditions. The Ventrix™ Jacket does this with ease thanks to lightweight, stretch insulation – the lightest in our entire Ventrix™ range – in combination with quick-drying, sweat-wicking technology and ventilating perforations and mesh panels in the back, balancing warmth with moisture management. It handily stows into its own mesh pocket and both logos are reflective for night-time safety.

The new windbreaker of the Flight Series™ range of the brand THE NORTH FACE arrives with more force than ever. A design made with the help of the brand’s trail athletes and with Ventrix technology™ that promises maximum ventilation. It has perforations in the areas where you need it most. They open so you can cool off but close when you are resting avoiding heat loss.

Thanks to its thermal insulation of great elasticity and lightness, this windbreaker is able to adapt to you in different routes and climatic conditions. It is the lightest in the Ventrix™ range and has an absorbent technology and at the same time fast drying that results in a perfect balance between perspiration and heat retention.

It can be easily stored in your own mesh pocket and features reflective details for added safety on your night outs. That is why it is ideal both for training and competing in windy, cold and even light drizzle thanks to its durable water-repellent finish (DWR).

THE NORTH FACE VENTRIX™:
FIRST IMPRESSIONS BY MARCIS

As soon as you take it you can already see that it is an extremely light garment, with a soft touch, it seems comfortable. Before wearing it I reviewed everything, it is simple but with small details of the brand.

It has no pockets, except for the rear one that serves both to store a gel, or the face mask, and to store the windbreaker itself when we do not need it in our training or competition. It is clear that it is a garment to perform… I always think that if it does not have pockets it is because they have conceived it to compete and in competition we do not want uncomfortable bounces (carry something in a pocket = bounce)

The back is almost transparent, the fabric is very thin, but the front areas of the chest and arms are covered by a double layer quite warm to the touch. In these areas we need more protection since it is where the wind will give us and they seek to conserve our body heat.

The jacket has no collar or hood. This is because practically everyone uses a panty or buff to warm up that area and they have intelligently decided to save that material and reduce weight to reach those 150g.

In the sleeves some small rubbers help us to keep the jacket in place and that we do not get cold by the wrists. I think it’s time to put it on and go for a run, we are at 2ºC in Madrid, let’s see how it is.

THE NORTH FACE VENTRIX™: FIRST KMS WITH RAIN.

It seemed that today came predestined to try this garment. It has been to put it on and start the race and the rain has begun to fall, first loose and then strong… but non-stop for the almost 40 minutes I have run. That it was going to be cold was clear, but this heavy rain has made things interesting.

During the time that the rain has lasted it was as if the water bounced off the jacket without any problem, the DWR acts like a charm. When the heavy rain has begun to fall I have worried but, despite not being a waterproof garment, it has resisted almost 30 minutes until it began to sink in. Honestly, I was surprised, I thought that with such an amount of water in 5 minutes I was going to be “chipiao”, as we say in mañolandia.
In spite of everything it has penetrated very little and in specific areas where the jacket is thinner, but in the double layer areas I have not noticed anything. And most importantly, it has kept me warm all the time and that I was not going at a high pace (120ppm that for me that I exceed 180 in competition … it’s almost walking).

Of the wind that I have not even heard, the garment protects in the areas where you need it most and retains your heat perfectly but it is not a sauna, the feeling is of perspiration to the maximum and the gums of the wrists have managed to keep the sleeves in place.

After this first jog it is clear to me that it is a garment that more than meets, but let me a couple of weeks to try it thoroughly in all kinds of training and conditions to bring you my final conclusion about this windbreaker of THE NORTH FACE.
