INOV-8 MUDCLAW G 260: Graphene sole and kevlar reinforced upper for flying through softground. Review by Lee Procter
The Inov-8 Mudclaw G-260 is a brand new trail running shoe for softground with graphene sole. Inov-8 recently announced a world-first in the sports footwear market by incorporating graphene into running shoes via the new Inov-8 G Series. The tech specs for this model include a lightweigth of 260 grams, kevlar reinforced upper, prominent 8mm lugs and a 4mm drop to stay low to the ground. Altogether they combine for an agile yet sturdy mud and snow gripper.

Graphene is the thinnest material on earth and is 200 times stronger than steel. First isolated at The University of Manchester in 2004, it’s the world’s first two-dimensional material at just one-atom thick and might revolutionise many areas of technology. Laboratory tests, claims the brand, have shown the rubber outsoles of these shoes, to be stronger, more stretchy and resistant to wear. At Chamonix, during the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc fair we go over the shoe itself in details, as presented by Lee Procter, from Inov-8
