KILIAN JORNET´S SUMMITS OF MY LIFE PROJECT 2012-2015.

A Fine Line, the film of the first year of challenges on the snow-covered peaks of the Alps directed by Sébastien Montaz-Rosset, premiered yesterday at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona in three consecutive showings for which all the 1,500 available tickets were sold out. The personal adventure of Kilian Jornet, the ‘Summits of My Life’ project, entered a new phase with the worldwide premiere in Barcelona of the film about the first year of challenges, A Fine Line, and with the launch of a micro-financing campaign directed at the ‘friends’ of the project. ‘Summits of My Life’ is four years of intense preparation, training and journeys, logistics, and amazing ascents and descents.

The ‘Summits of My Life’ project will encompass four years of intense preparation, training and journeys, logistics, and amazing ascents and descents. It is a unique, exciting, ambitious and tough challenge that Kilian Jornet will undertake in the company of friends and guided by the values that inspire him: simplicity, austerity, love for the mountains and hard work. To make the project as powerful and authentic as possible, the friends of the ‘Summits of My Life’ project has been launched as a new and open micro-financing formula to help keep Kilian Jornet’s adventure moving forward.

A Fine Line takes us on a breathtaking journey over the spectacular snow-covered peaks of the Alps as we join a small group of extraordinary mountain athletes in their pursuit of happiness and fulfillment.

Kilian Jornet is an exceptional sportsman. At only 25, the ski mountaineering racer and ultra trail runner is already a multiple record holder and winner of numerous world titles in ski alpinism and mountain marathons. For him and others born in the mountains, the challenges and dangers of their environment are part of everyday life. The search for happiness can come at a very high price, but the pursuit of their passion remains an overwhelming motivation.

Bringing together the sports of ultra running and alpinism in a ground-breaking new discipline, Kilian has decided to set himself some colossal personal challenges over the next few years that will test his fitness, resolve and skills far beyond the reaches of his career thus far. Combining his tremendous capacities for physical endurance together with the mountain environment he is so passionate about, Kilian is undertaking a series of feats that stand to change our perception of human capabilities. This spectacular journey will redefine the idea of ‘travelling light’ with technical equipment and back-up kept to a bare minimum. The powerful force of nature provides a rich backdrop for encounters with the natural world as Kilian embarks on the ‘Summits of My Life’.A Fine Line explores the background to Kilian’s extraordinary capabilities as a mountain athlete. Culminating in the traverse of the Mont Blanc mountain range from south to north via a technical climbing route, the film chronicles the first year of the new ‘Summits of My Life’ project. Kilian’s own experiences together with intimate accounts from his family and friends give an insight into the person behind such remarkable achievements.Kilian’s races and training in a year involves the equivalent in height gain of over 70 ascents of Everest and he often runs to the summit of Mont Blanc (4810 metres) for his morning training run.

The ‘Summits of My Life’ project will continue into the coming years, with record attempts planned on Mount Elbrus and the Matterhorn, and a speed attempt of Mont Blanc, Mount McKinley and Aconcagua, culminating in an expedition to the roof of the world, Mount Everest.
