TENERIFE BLUE TRAIL BY UTMB 2024

Tenerife Blue Trail by UTMB is set to make a significant stride by becoming part of the UTMB World Series in 2024. The event is scheduled to take place from June 6 to June 8, offering an immersive experience for trail running enthusiasts. The race features four distinct categories: Tenerife Bluetrail 110K, Tenerife Bluetrail 73K, Tenerife Bluetrail 47K, and Tenerife Bluetrail 24K.

Mark your calendars, as registrations open on Monday, December 4th, and can be accessed through the tenerife.utmb.world website. What’s even more exciting is that there’s a 48-hour exclusive access window for runners with a valid UTMB Index, allowing them priority registration to secure their spot in this thrilling event.

This integration into the UTMB World Series marks a new chapter for the Tenerife Blue Trail, promising an elevated experience for participants as it aligns with the renowned global trail running series. The diverse race categories cater to a range of skill levels, ensuring that there’s a trail for every type of runner.

TENERIFE BLUE TRAIL BY UTMB 2024: RACES

The race, which is held in Tenerife, the largest island of the Canary Islands, will celebrate its 13th edition in 2024. Runners will embark on a journey from the coast to more than 3,555 meters above sea level on a route in which they will discover the imposing Teide volcano, the third highest in the world from its base on the ocean floor.

The volcano and its surroundings form the Teide National Park, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and considered a true wonder of nature. Runners will be immersed in a variety of landscapes in all races, with the opportunity to explore otherworldly scenes as they traverse the jagged rocks of lava flows and race between volcanic peaks.

Descents though steep pine and laurel forests to the coastal paths on the north coast and the finish line on the Martiánez beach will have every sense awakened.

FOUR MOUNTAIN RACES, RUNNING STONES:

• Tenerife Bluetrail 110K / 6.250m+ (categoría 100M – 4 Running Stones);
• Tenerife Bluetrail 73K / 3,150m+ (100K category – 3 Running Stones)
• Tenerife Bluetrail 47K /2,600m+ (50K category – 2 Running Stones);
• Tenerife Bluetrail 24K / 1,300m+ (20K category – 1 Running Stone).

In addition, the event will also feature a 47km challenge in pairs, the Tenerife Bluetrail 47K Relay; a 3.5km vertical challenge, the Vertical Night Challenge; children’s and family races; and two exclusive modalities for people with some type of functional diversity, Reto and Joëlettes, so that they can enjoy the experience of participating in a unique sporting event
