Look, she now arrives not as a sports performance shoe, but as a walking shoe just as they did to her sister XT Wings 6.
Both are already in physical stores and on the official Salomon website. The brand new Salomon Speedcross 3 Racing of 2021 comes with a price of 120 €, weight 313gr and a drop of 11mm between the forefoot and heel.This shoe comes back the same way it left.
SALOMON SPEEDCROSS 3 RACING: THE TRAILRUNNING CLIMBER IS BACK.
The Salomon Speedcross saga was born as a technical shoe for soft terrain with a great terrain feeling. But it has existed far beyond the mountains and even dominated pubs and nightclubs. Those days, honors were distributed between them and the XT Wings which focused on maximum protection for all types of ultra races.
These Speedcrosss were betting on technical/vertical races but not too long or for light runners with an excellent technique in long, of course. The Speedcross range has always been alive, today we can see it younger sister: the Speedcross 5.
In parallel, the original version of 2012 returns as a “sneaker” for everyday use: With you, the classic SPEEDCROSS 3 RACING reborn. Let’s go with the details now.

SALOMON SPEEDCROSS 3 RACING: DATA SHEET VERSION 2021
- PRICE: 120€. The cheapest of the four reborn sisters: Up to 55€ below the XT6 or 20€ than the XA Pro. An average price, which curiously maintains almost that of 2012. Logical, since beyond the sneaker for walking, it is worth as a mid-range solution, for runners of the popuar platoon that prime protection and confidence.
- WEIGHT: 313 grams for men. Almost identical to the one at the time and 50gr lighter than XT6. A full revival, without changing almost anything.
- DROP: 11mm, A high drop, which makes them a shoe not very demanding in the technical and that allows us to heel if we get tired by running many hours with them.
- GROUND HEIGHT: 20mm front and 31mm at back. A shoe particularly attached to the ground, if worn its 6-8mm lugs does NOT dampen much in front, of course. But it doesn’t fall behind, thanks to the wide drop. And so, being glued to the ground in front gives us a lot of tact of ground.
- HORMIFIT FIT: It looks so the feet are safe and comfortable. It works, now with a pellet more space, a couple of mm more width maybe.
- QUICKLACE CABLE: The Classic of the brand is still present here. It is not liked by everyone, but those who fit in, they value its adjustment of tough and minimalist laces. Easy to put on, easy to remove, no doubt
- LUGS: High prominence, 6mm. They go much better on soft ground, mud or snow if they are not especially deep.
- OUTSOLE: Contagrip TA. The Contagrip rubber sole features deep multidirectional lugs to improve mud traction. Created for maximum grip on slippery, soft or uneven surfaces, this rubber balances durability and grip.
- COLOR: Arrives in one color: White base with some red/blue/yellow appliques.

The brand itself now presents them as: Lightweight, highly cushioned and with a huge grip, the SPEEDCROSS 3 is an unelike shoe. This season, we’ve updated this trail running legend with colors inspired by our rich racing history: blue for intense workouts before a competition, red for the taste of blood in the mouth during an intense and yellow physical effort for victory. The SPEEDCROSS 3 RACING is a tribute to this spirit of competition.
Return to the countryside… at popular request. Speedcross have always been and remain firm and safe trail shoes for running in soft grounds. Although minimally cushioned to run long down the mountain. Today, with some shoes and lighter materials, its stays a little bit off the hook when compared with pther novelties.
But without a doubt, this shoe can boast of having created a legion of faithful followers. To run it all with them. Or to take them everywhere in the day-to-day.
