MOZART 100 ULTRA 2020: CANCELLED DUE COVID-19 OUTBREAK

The Mozart100 Ultra Trail that should be hosted in Salzburg in May 20th will be cancelled due the COVID19 outbreak.The charming Alpine city of Salzburg was going to held the event as the unesco world heritage city, surrounded by a majestic landscape and world icon of the music since it is the place where Mozart was born and grew up. It was going to be a great occasion, for a great trip that needs to be moved for 2021 now.

In 2012 this event was born with a vocation of “friendly”. A date that never seeks to be the toughest, nor the loudest, nor… he just wants each runner to feel welcome, have a place to eat/drink and run with guarantees before, during and after the bib. And along the way, offering a unique opportunity to visit Salzburg and the entire Alpine region of glacial lakes, peaks and mountain refuges that surround it.

MOZART100 2020: Cancelled due COVID-19. Official Statement

The past weeks have been characterized by global developments around the Covid-19 pandemic. Here in Austria, our original goal was that mozart 100® could take place on 20 June 2020. However, after having assessed all event scenarios and in consultation with event stakeholders following the direction and recommendations by the Austrian Federal Government, we must confirm that the ninth edition of Mozart 100 cannot take place in 2020 and will return on 19 June 2021.

We worked diligently with host communities and authorities to find suitable alternatives, but based on additional considerations including among others the availability of start and finish line venues, travel restrictions, and the possibility to host a safe race within global and local health and safety guidelines it was clear we could not host the event.

In what has been a continually evolving and challenging time globally, we recognize that this decision due to the above-mentioned unforeseen events may come as a disappointment. While we are prevented from holding the event on the original date, we are looking forward to hosting an exceptional race experience at Mozart 100 on 19 June 2021.

All registered athletes for the 2020 Mozart 100 will soon receive an email from us about their options for participation in 2021.
