MAXI-RACE SOUTH AFRICA 2109: MAGICAL AND UNIQUE LANDSCAPES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WORLD
More than just a trail race, the Maxi Race CAPE WINELANDS in South Africa promises its magical and unique landscapes. It is an invitation to share the country’s incredible hospitality, culture and heritage, while running on some of South Africa’s most unknown trails! The routes have been carefully designed by the professional trailers Landie & Christiaan Greyling, and in collaboration with many local actors and volunteers to provide an unforgettable experience for each runner. “We want to develop the spirit of mountain adventure and share our beautiful trails with the rest of the world. We have run in so many places around the world so we want to show and develop our beautiful territory now! Our objective is not only to leave each runner with a rare memory, but we also want to emphasize the aspects of a responsible event. An important point for our communities, local artisans and ecosystems, and one that is also supported by MaXi-Race World around the world.” confirms Christiaan Greyling.
With its magnificent natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and world-class wines, the Western Cape wine region offers a unique experience. A 45-minute drive from Cape Town takes you to Stellenbosch where beautiful mountains form a dramatic backdrop of lush vineyards and historic Dutch gabled farms. The host city, Stellenbosch, is a university town surrounded by vineyards and the mountainous nature reserves of Jonkershoek and Simonsberg. Stellenbosch is the Mecca of sport. Many professionals and sports enthusiasts have settled here in order to benefit from a mild climate and world-renowned infrastructure.
As for the all Maxi-Race World races, the adventure is more than just a trail, an exceptional trip: hiking on Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope, Safari to discover the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo), but also discover some wine farms, stroll through the typical streets of Stellenbosch and discover the colonial heritage through museums and monuments. Specific accommodation packages are available with Runcation, including transfer, accommodation and additional activities in the region. With an all-inclusive one-week “Tourism and Acclimatization” package. A change of scenery guaranteed!
