SALOMON SENSE RIDE: VIDEO PRESENTATION. Light and nimble trail running shoe

.

The Salomon Sense series has been a top seller within the Salomon trail line, particularly for the performance oriented crowd. The Salomon Sense Ride was introduced as new member to the Sense family, with its very own personality, quite different from sister shoes  Sense Pro and Sense Marin,

.

Its tech specs discover an agile shoe for the middle of the pack runners. That is,  being light and not as close to the ground as top runners may gt away with, due to their superb technique. Here we go with a 275 grams shoe, sporting an 8mm drop for a stack height of 27mm at the heel and 19mm at forefoot. Play video to get the full feeling of the shoe before we move on to its main points of cushioning and traction.

SALOMON SENSE RIDE: CUSHIONING AND TRACTION.

.

Cushioning and traction are two solid pillars as well. The first count on the Vibe Technology in the midsole. coming as a multi-piece midsole composed of EnergyCell+ foam and two Opal cushion inserts. According to the brand, they are to work together and therefore reduce foot strike vibrations and deliver an optimal responsive ride. On top of that, the Sense Ride comes with a thicker midsole cushion than the Sense Pro and Sense Marin, therefore being better suited for longer trail runs, when that extra cushioning is appreciated.

Traction comes off well indeed, due to its Premium Wet Traction Contagrip, much the same compound as that of the latest S-Lab Shoes. This does provide reliable traction over wet surfaces. The shoe also packs a featherweight ProFeel Film to add some protection on rough terrain.
