TRANSVULCANIA 2025 RESULTS:
GOLD TO PETER FRANO AND ANNE-LISE ROUSSET.
Transvulcania adidas TERREX experienced another historic edition of mountain racing this weekend. The race on the island of La Palma, celebrating its fifteenth birthday, was filled with intense emotions and spectacular moments across all its competitive distances, with Peter Frano and Anne-Lise Rousset crowned as the winners of the ultra marathon.
On a day destined for epic moments, with harsh conditions of rain and wind, cold in some parts of the course, and changing temperatures, This edition was tough from the start with a gale hitting the runners righ before the start and not letting go of them all over the event. The conditions were extremely demanding, getting in fact progresively worse as the peloton climbed from the coast to the 2.400m high race summit. Nevertheless, the trail runners soldiered on with brave smiles from the start as we witnessed firsthand with our start video.
FRANO AND ROUSSET EXCEL UNDER THE ELEMENTS
Frano and Rousset were the best on this very special anniversary. The Slovak runner faced a true sporting battle with Andreas Reiterer, initially gaining a significant lead that the Italian later reduced, passing him on the descent toward Tazacorte.
Once reaching the port of Tazacorte, Frano, who never lost sight of Reiterer, launched an attack from the asphalt as the terrain turned uphill again, which the Transalpino could no longer respond to. The Slovak, without looking back, crossed the finish line solo to win with a time of 6h.55:36, with Reiterer finishing second (6h.58:27) and Manu Anguita claiming third place on the podium (7h.19:18).
Anne-Lise Rousset did not allow Ruth Croft to defend her 2024 victory. The French runner delivered a brutal performance in very tough conditions to achieve a victory at Transvulcania adidas TERREX that she had been pursuing for some time. Rousset had previously been second in 2016 and 2017 behind Ida Nilsson, and also in 2019 behind Ragna Debats.

The French athlete achieved an emotional victory in a race she had a debt to settle with. Her dominance was not from start to finish, as she initially faced resistance from Ruth Croft, with whom she stayed until the El Reventón area. There, Rousset pushed upward while Croft faded, eventually being overtaken by runners like Ekaterina Mityaeva and Martina Valmassoi, among others.
Rousset maintained her good pace to finish with a time of 8h.18:17, securing her first win at Transvulcania adidas TERREX and announcing afterward that this would be her last season as a runner. The podium was completed by Ekaterina Mityaeva (8h.36:58) and Martina Valmassois (8h.37:25).

TRANSVULCANIA 2025 MARATHON
In the Marathon distance, Raúl Criado and María Teresa La Chica achieved an epic victory, with Criado setting a new race record and La Chica demonstrating her strength. Criado was part of an initial group with Tobias Baggenstos and Andrea Prandi, among others, and gradually set a tough pace that increased on the descent from El Time, making it unbeatable for his pursuers. The winner finished in 3h.43:43, a new distance record, beating Baggenstos by 1:44 minutes. Prandi finished third in 3h.48:19.
The big surprise of this edition of Transvulcania adidas TERREX was María Teresa La Chica, who defied all predictions to win with a time of 4h.29:19, seven minutes and a second faster than Sheila Avilés (4h.36:20). The podium was completed by Inés Astraín (4h.47:26).

HALFMARATHON
Luca del Pero and Maude Mathys achieved a double victory in this edition of Transvulcania adidas TERREX. Del Pero and Mathys, who had already won the Vertical Ascent on Thursday, also triumphed in the Half Marathon, where they demonstrated their dominance by setting new course records for both.

LUCA DEL PERO AND MAUDE MATHYS DOUBLE IT UP
The Italian runner stayed true to his style, going all out, and quickly formed a lead group at the front of the race, which only included Sergio Álvarez, Daniel Osanz, Baptiste Massot, and Lucas Clocher. Del Pero and Álvarez pushed through the resistance of the other competitors to fight for the win, with Del Pero being the most consistent (2h.11:19), finishing 12 seconds ahead of the Tenerife native Álvarez. Daniel Osanz finished third with a time of 2h.12:32.
Just like in the Vertical Ascent, Maude Mathys was dominant among the women in this Half Marathon distance. The Swiss athlete was unstoppable from the start, breaking the race’s historical record and stopping the clock at 2h.37:20—over 11 minutes faster than Alba Valladares, who finished second (2h.48:50). The third place on the podium was occupied by Silvia Lara (2h.49:31). Local runner Moana Lilly Kehres finished fourth (2h.49:35).

TRANSVULCANIA 2025 VERTICAL KILOMETER
The always thrilling Vertical Kilometer opened the competition schedule for this 15th edition. On the steep slopes from Puerto de Tazacorte to the El Time viewpoint, runners pushed their limits for a strong start to the weekend. with Luca del Pero and Maude Mathys blasting it out to deliver record breaking performances.

LUCA DEL PERO AND MAUDE MATHYS GOLD
The race, explosive and spectacular as always, crowned Luca del Pero (47:59) and Maude Mathys (56:39) as the winners. The Italian runner and the Swiss athlete demonstrated their consistency on the tough slopes of the event to secure their place as winners of the race that opened the competitive calendar of this fifteenth edition of the La Palma event. The Italian runner strenuously sought the record held by Norwegian Stian Angermud-Vik, which he narrowly missed. The Swiss athlete did achieve it, delivering a performance that will go down in the history of the adidas TERREX Transvulcania as fifth in the overall standings.
The competition was tough for the two winners because both Diego Díaz, among the men, and Silvia Lara and Yuri Yoshizumi, among the women, pushed hard to reach the top of the podium at the end of the day. Thus, what was experienced in this Vertical Climb was a sporting exhibition like few others in the world of mountain racing.
There was excitement and spectacle, as the participants passed the reference points, the lead changed hands as the favorites gradually grew and overtook the runners who preceded them at the start. Until they passed Del Pero and Mathys, breaking records one after the other.
In the end, Del Pero and Mathys set the most consistent pace at the finish line. Diego Díaz (50:41) and Boris Orlhac (50:49) completed the men’s podium, while Silvia Lara (1:02:22) and Yuri Yoshizumi (1:02:46) were second and third in the women’s race.
