This week, the final piece of the 2025 puzzle has been revealed: the 2025 GTWS Grand Finale will take place in October in the breathtaking Ledro Valley, nestled in Italy’s Trentino region near Lake Garda. Surrounded by dramatic peaks rising over 2,000 metres and part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the valley offers a natural setting of forests and meadows surrounding the crystal-clear waters of Lake Ledro — the perfect stage to bring the 2025 season to a close.

The 2025 Golden Trail World Series (GTWS) features a dynamic calendar of eight races across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, culminating in a grand final in October. Each race offers unique challenges, from historic trails to alpine terrains.​

Golden Trail Series 2025:  Format, Scoring and Prizes

• Best 3 Results Count: Athletes’ top three performances from the eight regular-season races contribute to their overall ranking.​SportsTravel+4goldentrailseries.com+4goldentrailseries.com+4

• Grand Final: Participation is mandatory for final classification. The final includes a prologue (time trial) and a main race, with points awarded as follows:​

  • Prologue: Up to 100 points.​

  • Final Race: Up to 300 points.​

  • Total: Up to 400 points available in the final.

• Total Prize Money: Over €300,000 across the series.​

• Elite Support: Top 30 athletes from the 2024 GTWS rankings receive free race entries for 2025. The top 20 are invited to participate in four races, with financial support for travel and accommodation.​

• Grand Final Support: Top 30 athletes after the regular season receive financial assistance to attend the final, covering travel, accommodation, and meals.

GOLDEN TRAIL SERIES: How to follow it

The 2025 season kicks off in Kobe, Japan with today´s news that Salomon and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports came together on the iconic Champs-Élysées in Paris to unveil a game-changing, multi-yearpartnership designed to elevate the Golden Trail World Series (GTWS) to new heights.

The GTWS offers a highly entertaining, TV-ready format with each event lasting around two hours, featuring steep climbs and technical descents as well as a “flower” course layout that allows spectators to see more of the race and better engage with the athletes.

Live and on-demand coverage of the series will be delivered to the widest possible audience, reaching more than 100 countries across five continents via WBD’s premium linear channels, including Eurosport (Europe) and TNT Sports (UK &Ireland) as well as streaming platforms Max/HBO Max and discovery+. This will be further amplified by an extensive network of broadcast partners,including free-to-air channels and OTT platforms.
