TRAILCAT 2025 IN TORX EXPERIENCE.
Report by Mayayo
The essence of the TORX® eXperience becomes even wilder with the strengthening of the bond between TRAILCAT and the international circuit created by VDA Trailers, which brings together some of the world’s toughest and most spectacular endurance races. Now in its fourth edition, TRAILCAT is not just a race—it’s an adventure with no reference points, a journey through the most remote and fascinating lands of the Costa Daurada, in Catalonia (Spain), across the mountains of Prades, El Priorat, Serra de Llaberia, and Montsant, starting on March 13. An experience that perfectly embodies the spirit of self-sufficiency and endurance that defines the TORX® eXperience.
TRAILCAT 2025 RACES.
The four distances of TRAILCAT (TRAILCAT200 – 310 km, 15,000 meters of elevation gain, TRAILCAT100 – 161 km, 8,500 meters D+, TRAILCAT50 – 80 km, 4,700 meters D+, and TRAILCAT25 – 47 km, 2,500 meters D+) have already reached full capacity with 150 participants from 18 nations. Unlike traditional races, there are no course markings, no ribbons, and no flags: participants must navigate exclusively with their GPS, following technical and wild trails, immersed in a natural environment that alternates rugged mountains, historic villages, and unique views of the Mediterranean.
The route remains secret until 15 days before the race, enhancing the sense of adventure and unpredictability. Life bases, strategically placed along the route, provide refreshment points, beds, showers, and access to personal drop bags, essential elements for tackling a challenge that demands total self-sufficiency.

Further confirmation of the importance and appeal of this competition is the presence of top international trail athletes, runners who have already made history at TORX® with Kailas. Among the registered participants are Galen Reynolds (second at TOR330 – Tor des Géants® in 2018 and 2019, and third in 2023), Luca Papi (winner of TOR450 – Tor des Glaciers in 2019 and 2021, third in 2022), and Martin Perrier and Claire Bannwarth, (both third in the last TOR330). These are runners who have already left their mark on the Alte Vie of Valle d’Aosta and are now ready to test themselves on one of the wildest and most extreme routes in Europe.
TRAILCAT 2025 & TOR DES GEANTS DECLARATIONS.
“The TRAILCAT is a truly exciting competition held in incredibly scenic locations,” explain Alessandra Nicoletti and Paolo Griselli, President and Vice President of VDA Trailers. “Not knowing the course until 15 days before the event adds a layer of mystery, and the fact that athletes must navigate only using their GPS fully reflects the wild and extraordinary spirit that characterizes the races in our TORX® eXperience circuit.”
“For us, the partnership with TORX® eXperience represents an additional step forward in increasing international participation, allowing us to position our event more prominently in the global long-distance competition calendar,” says Dani Buyo, Race Director of TRAILCAT. “This year, with the 2025 edition, we are preparing for an extreme TRAILCAT300 in 2026, for its fifth edition, featuring nearly 500 km of challenges through the Muntanyes de Prades, Montsant, and Costa Daurada regions. The goal is to create a comprehensive sports and tourism event, engaging the world’s best long-distance runners.”
