The 13th edition of the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® saw the participation of 3,200 runners from 66 countries, competing in one of the 10 available race modalities. Organized by the Cabildo through the public company Ideco, the race has successfully integrated into the UTMB® World Series, the most prestigious trail running circuit globally. This inclusion has allowed runners to earn Running Stones, which grant access to the renowned HOKA UTMB® Mont-Blanc race.
The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® also hosted the Bluetrail Challenge, an inclusive event where 30 participants with disabilities competed in distances of 8, 5, and 1 kilometers. This commitment to inclusion and diversity is one of the event’s most cherished aspects.
A Safe and Well-Organized Event
Participant safety was a priority, with over 700 personnel strategically distributed throughout the course, including Cabildo staff, Civil Guard, local police, and various civil protection entities. The race proceeded smoothly, with only minor incidents related to exhaustion, general discomfort, or trauma. In total, 59 women and 197 men withdrew from the race.
Approximately 200 volunteers played a crucial role in the organization, handling tasks such as preparing runner bags, distributing bibs, assisting at the start of different modalities, providing materials at the finish line, linking with transport to Santa Cruz or La Laguna, and offering refreshments along the course. Their dedication and effort significantly contributed to the event’s success.
