The XTERRA Trail Run World Series is a competition that takes place through some of the most desirable terrain in the world for runners. From the heart of the Pyrenees to the volcanic trails of Asia and the Pacific and the rugged landscapes of deep America.

XTERRA TRAIL RUN WORLD SERIES 2024
In its second year, the XTERRA Trail Run World Series offers a series of trail races where participants of all levels can compete together, breaking down the barriers typically found in elite-dominated events.
The organization aims to ensure that every participant has the chance to win prizes at various global events, regardless of their competitive background. The series features marathon (35-60km) and half marathon (15-34km) distances, as well as shorter trail races and group events to accommodate a wide range of athletic abilities.
2024 XTERRA RUN MOUNTAIN RACING CALENDAR:
The series takes place in stunning locations such as the mountain trails of Andorra, the majestic landscapes of Riverhead Forest in New Zealand, and the historic trails of Paipa in Colombia. However, the organization wants these races to be more than just about visiting beautiful and technically challenging places. They aim for runners to immerse themselves in the local culture, making each event a unique experience.
Additionally, the XTERRA Trail Run World Series places a strong emphasis on community. They strive to foster a sense of connection among participants, creating friendships and turning races into gatherings where shared experiences are celebrated. These events also include family races and vibrant post-race gatherings, emphasizing community exploration and the joy of healthy competition.

CHAMPIONSHIP AND CLASSIFICATION
The pinnacle of the series is the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship, held at different iconic locations each year. In 2024, the championship will take place on the scenic trails of Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine.
Qualifying races are open to all runners, but those aiming for the exclusive XTERRA Trail Run World Championship must earn their spot through limited allocations available in each race. Each qualifying race offers a set number of championship slots to the top performers in each age division.
Most races in the series provide 58 World Championship spots for both half marathon and full marathon distances. The largest and most competitive events offer up to 116 spots. These slots are evenly divided between men and women and are categorized into fourteen age divisions, based on five-year age groups.
