SALOMON SENSE FLOW 2: MIXED ASPHALT AND TRAILS SHOE, FOR ONLY 80€.

SALOMON SENSE FLOW 2: Mixed asphalt shoe and trails, for only 80€. Our TRAIL SHOES section presents today another great novelty of the catalog of the French brand for 2021-22. A running shoe from home asphalt to simple trails. It arrives with 80€ price, light weight 248gr and a drop 8mm.

Thus we follow the 21-22 Salomon advance behind the Ultra Glide with 32mm for long running on firm ground and the Salomon Cross Pro 2 for mud and soft racing. As a first price, in addition to these Flow 2, do not forget your sisters SALOMON TRAILSTER 2 to 90€.

SALOMON SENSE FLOW 2: MIXED ASPHALT AND TRAILS SHOE, FOR ONLY 80€.

SALOMON SENSE FLOW 2: DATA SHEET.

  • Price: 80€. The most affordable price of Salomon. A commitment to make it “easy” to move to the first trails for the asphalt runners. Complete a trilogy of interest, with the 90th of its most versatile sister TRAILSTER 2
  • Weight: 248 grams for the men version. A real featherweight, which might encourage some veteran to use in short races/trainings.
  • Drop: 8mm, An intermediate drop, nor high not low for an initiation. It makes them a shoe not very demanding in the technical and that allows us to heel if we get tired of singing many hours with them.
  • Ground height: 19mm front and 27mm at back. A shoe quite glued to the ground. So, it doesn’t dampen much in front, of course. In return, being glued to the ground in front gives us a lot of tact of ground.
  • Cushioning: Medium-high firmness for its range, with the various straps that “fix” the instep plus the chassis.
  • Laces: Quicklace cable
  • Lugs: Low prominence with 3mm. With Contagrip MD rubber. They’ll just be fine on firm ground. Let’s not ask for miracles if we mess with them through mud or snow.
  • Sole: Oversized width 1cm front and 0.5cm at back. The wide sole makes them somewhat more stable. At the expense, yes, if I’m not the most agile in the class. That’s what other sisters are for. The rubber is Contagrip MD, which gives a little more durability over the Contagrip MA of other shoes in the French range.

SALOMON SENSE FLOW 2: CONCLUSION & ALTERNATIVES.

A model to run down the street, from home and reach the nearest trails. An “excuse” to make our first entry in mountain racing in an accessible way. And keeping variuos of Salomon’s distinctive features, even at this first price.

Thus, we will have our first sensations with cable laying, with the Contagrip rubber and with the usual cushioning of the house, although here very limited.

In return, they are not designed to be the strongest saplings if we put them through rocks and shrubs, nor to nail well and advance between mud or fresh snow. They are also not designed for significant durability. Of course, that’s what their sisters are for, also at friendly prices of about 90 euros such as the SALOMON TRAILSTER 2, which you can review here in detail. The TRAILSTER 2 comes with a little more price but a much more complete proposal if you really want to try something more often in mountain racing.
