The ADIDAS TERREX AGRAVIC BOA is already on sale here on the official Adidas website. It is launched with 150€ price, for a weight of 285 grams, with drop of 7mm as a result of a ground height of 17mm in front and 24mm at the back. The sole is the usual Continental, the cushioning is entrusted to Boost and the closure is a side BOA system.

- Price: 150€ For a minority of user, it will pay off, no doubt.
- Weight: 285 g. Perhaps something high for a shoe that wants to be very competitive also for the elites. The female version stays at 240g.

According to the brand, it is an exclusive version of the mythical “Erlk-nig” or design with zebra stripes. Anyway, let’s analyze to the four pillars that make the Terrex Agravic a different shoes, for better or worse. Firstly, let’s see the three most basic features and then more detailed why this BOA closure, as there are as many different BOA closures as shoes in the market, almost.
- BOOST AMORTIGUATION. Adidas has been going between EVA and Boost for its mountain shoes for a few years. Gradually the BOOST settles, with reinforcements point. CLOSURE BOA FIT SYSTEM
The BOA system looks for a perfect fit and greater support in each shoe. There are thousand different BOA closures types, based on four combinations of: Location (side, central, asymmetrical…); Eyelets; Tension wheels and material laces. In this case we are looking at a side closure with sprocket model L6 and with the very hard Dyneema as textile material of the laces. A guarantee.
The BOA is used because fine-tunes the closure with each tooth of the wheel and then allows us to release at once to remove them. It prevents water, mud or ice from entering and is easy to put on and remove, so much so that in my case the daily “walk” shoes have long been the original Adidas Terrex Two BOA.
A crushing dominator in professional cycling and snowboarding, I personally find it comfortable and useful. On a personal level, I think in the next few years up to 1/3 of the shoes will bet on BOA. In addition to tuning the fit to milimeters, it’s just that. Being able to “readjust” the shoes on the blick of an eye when facing a descent… it’s priceless.
