CAMP GEAR FOR SKI MOUNTAINEERING 2020: TOP3 NOVELTIES.

The italian brand acronym stands for Concezione Articoli Montagna Premana, and embodies a heritage going back to 1889, with currently thrives on three brands – CAMP, CASSIN and CAMP SAFETY which can be found in 80 countries around the world and holds branches in France, the United States and Russia. CAMP’s products epitomise lightness and performance, along the lines of the “light and fast” motto of contemporary alpinism

When launching novelties for 2020, the brand focused upon improving performance for skis, bindings, skins, boots and much more. In fact ski mountaineers need other gear, as well, such as crampons, backpacks and gloves, and CAMP is trying to offer them truly ski mountaineering-specific tools,

According to their developers, attention for details can bring a world of difference, making every outing on the snow a memorable one, thanks to an aluminium crampon such as the pioneering Skimo Nanotech, instead of a more common steel one. And that’s not all: the Ski Raptor backpack, conceived for freeriders, is better than a somewhat multi-purpose model that may turn out to be uncomfortable. As far as gloves are concerned, we highly recommend the G Air model, which guarantees adequate protection when skinning up, when the temperature is still cold. Let us see them all in more detail below.

CAMP Skimo Nanotech crampons: The Skimo Nanotech uses the same hyperlight 7075 aluminum alloy frame design and T-Stop binding system as the Skimo Tour with the addition of Sandvik Nanoflex® stainless steel reinforcements on the front points for increased durability, strength, and penetration on hard snow and ice. The micro-adjustable linking bar with large and small range settings delivers a precise fit for all boot lengths. Semi-auto toe bails (sold separately) can be integrated for boots without toe welts. Anti-balling plates and carrying case included. Weight 470 g (395 g without antibott)

..
CAMP Ski Raptor backpack The 30-liter Ski Raptor builds on our years of experience making the most advanced skimo race packs and integrates many of the features into a next level freeride pack for fast and light romps in the backcountry. Skis can be attached and removed without removing the pack with our X-Press ski carrying system. Crampons and other essentials can be accessed through a side opening at the bottom of the pack —again without removing pack. The interior flap that compartmentalizes the crampon pocket can be zipped away to create a single large interior main compartment. The back panel features our Back Door access which makes gear accessible independent of where it is layered in the pack. The back panel is shaped with thermoforming and the shoulder straps are cut for a contoured fit that makes the pack feel remarkably stable during dynamic movements. Weight 920 g

.

CAMP G Air gloves A hyperlight glove designed for technical aerobic activities in the cold. The precision fit guarantees maximum sensitivity. The main body is windproof for protection from the elements while the palm remains unlined for super breathability. PrimaLoft® 60 g/m2 insulation delivers a basic level of dry warmth while maintaining a high level of breathability. Silicone inserts on the palm and fingers for exceptional grip. 6 sizes from S to XXXL. Weight/pair 60 g (L size)
