VIBRAM PRESENTS “DUALITY”: THE SHORT MOVIE ABOUT WOMEN AND TRAIL RUNNING

Vibram has been recognized as the leading solemaker for outdoor sports in the world for decades now. Ever since its first sole back in 1937, the italian brand founded by Vitale Bramani has never stopped its research & development efforts and have recently launched two major initiatives to handle tough weather conditions. Vibram Megagrip was designed to optimize grip on wet rock conditions, whereas Arctic grip focuses on winter terrain.

The company now launchs “Duality”, a film conceived and produced by Vibram and shot by the Italian director Alessandro Beltrame.

In “Duality” four women, four strong ultrarunners, tell their stories winding between an ordinary life of family and work, and running in the mountains. Two apparently opposite conditions, woman and athlete, but they actually need each other to exist. Ordinary women who, at some point in their life, decide to do extraordinary things, to travel new paths, putting strength, obstinacy and commitment.

Juliette Blanchet: who has chosen Team Vibram because “it seems to be the only group of runners that really spend time together to share about their passion”.

Uxue Fraile: the basque part of both the Trailrunning and the SkiAlp Team Vibram will tell her story in the video.

Audrey Bassac: her goal is to keep learning and improving, and to challenge herself in international races.

Yulia Baykova: a brilliant trail runner who has been living in Italy for several years. After a serious illness that could have jeopardized her life, she miraculously recovered and in 2016 she came back to trail running with new enthusiasm and energy

This is a project strongly desired by Vibram and in which the Company truly believes. As stated by Jérome Bernard, Sports Innovation Marketing Global Director Vibram, “Rare are sports like trail running in which women manage to compete with men. Duality helps us to understand why in the ultra trail competitions the multiple nuances and peculiarities of women can move the rules of the game. Duality is a message aimed at women at all those, including companies, who want to perceive what it means to be an ultra-runner woman.”

Vibram chose the setting of the beautiful Chamonix to screen the film, during the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc week, the film will be screened in Chamonix on Thursday, August 30th during the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc events.
